  • Especially with DDR5 and AMD, there’s an advantage with 2 sticks vs 4. Basically with 4 sticks it might be hard to run at the same speed and timings. In extreme cases there could be instability issues

  • No one is actually claiming huge improvements.  Most of us are suggesting incremental improvements we weren't expecting adding to overall RAM consumption and MSFS RAM consumption and noticed less micr

I'm on the G.Skill Tridents 6000 30-38-38-96 right now, I'm taking a gamble with the Corsair 64GB kit at 30-36-36-76 1.4v. Very good timings but don't think they are certified, so we'll see.

Let me know how it turns out please. Im also on the same G.Skill Tridents as you are. (Love them) using Blitzoids timings and overclocked to 6200 but i'm not willing to go to CAS 32 on the 64GB equivalent. If the Corsairs work then ill take a gamble with them with the tighter timings even though its not on the QVL..

Ram is cheap now. I just ordered another 32gb. Can’t hurt anything.

It is, but never buy RAM separately. It might cause instabilities in your system. Even if being the same type. Either get the same batch of 2x32 or 4x16 gb of going for 64 gb totally.

I run a set of 48gb G-Skill ES from last year, have a 64gb set G-Skill  cl30 set but the 48gb set is better bind

Tried the simple upgrade from 32GB to 64 GB DDR4 yesterday.  I must have a motherboard that only likes 2 sticks as all 3 attempts at flights post RAM change resulted in system lockups and CTD's.  Removed the two additional sticks and flew a 12 hour flight.  I guess I will be looking for 2 32GB sticks instead...

your situation is a perfect example what happens when you add extra ram to the system not being from the same batch. It causes system instability. It happened to me as well on my previous rig.

It was even the same RAM, same manufacturer, same timings and everything but did not like playing nicely with the same RAM already installed...

Well I'm in ye ole' Danish currency, so that probably doesn't translate well. But a local site, Proshop, had a sale on them. So they were some of the cheapest 'good' kits (1749 danish kroners).

Well, just slapped them in without resetting / updating the BIOS as was my intend. Wanted to see if they'd boot with my Buildzoid timings (I use those as well) and whatdya' know, they are working. These are also SK Hynix A-Die and with such similar timings as the G.Skills, I figured they are probably close to being the same sticks with a different heatspreader on there.

But it's working, running 30-38-38-28 at 1.4v

Hmmm... 64GB to have an ideal pc to run MSFS24... I just went a step further and ordered 96GB 6400MHz...

I guess Christmas came early this year...

I'm using CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30. I have 2 empty slots on my MB, so I will order 2 more sticks if needed for FS2024.

I would do a full memtest...   Mine booted right up and even got 45 minutes into a few flights after adding the two additional sticks before CTD or hanging...
