I also find it strange that they list the RTX 4080 card as ideal but say 12GB VRAM. The 4080 has 16GB. 9800X3D | RTX 5090 FE | X870E Aorus Pro | 64GB G.Skill DDR5 6000MT/s | WD Black 2TB NVMe

It is the same with my GPU, when I had my 3080TI I never saw more than 10GB, my 3090 used around 14GB and now with my 4090 I typically sit around 16GB-18GB Richard i7-12700K | Noctua NH-D15S Black Version | MSI Pro Z690 - A | 32 GB DDR4 3600 | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 | 1TB WD Blue NMVe (MSFS 2020) | 500 GB WD Black Gen 4 NVMe | 4TB WD Black Conventional | Fractal Design Torrent Case | Seasonic 1000W Gold Plus PSU | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Honeycomb Throttle | Airbus Side Stick | Virpil Rudder Pedals | Sony X90K 55 Inch TV |

I have seen FS2020 use 28GB of RAM with GSX, FSLTL and 3rd party sceneries and the FENIX A320. Yeah, currently have 64 and think its a good buffer. I remember a while back some people thought 32 was too much. (especially in other sims). September 21, 20241 yr in an "ideal" world i would have a full motion 320 😎 on a serious ( ish) note I've tried two sets of 32 DDR5 with this Mobo neither can reach advertised speed of 6000 AM5 still abit sketchy . but i guess the real moral of this story is yep you've guessed it "always check the QVL list " lol 😏 Edited September 21, 20241 yr by sonny147 ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. I run 4K at Ultra settings with my render scale on 105-110 with TLOD's in the air of 400 and I cap my fps at 72 if I am flying out of smaller custom airports like IniBuilds LEIB. I do drop my fps lock if I am at IniBuilds EGLL in the 777 though. He does it easily, because the sim and windows budget system ram. Now, will he have compromises and culls in terms of what is loaded and when? Sure, that goes without saying. I use about half as much as you do, and I have a loaded sim. I presently have 32GB. That's why it typically uses about 20-23 GB as RJC mentions. September 21, 20241 yr Today I saw total 20Gb in use in which the sim used 10. Fenix at Gatwick. Anyway, I’ll wait and see if it’s really needed before I go for 64gb. Btw I’ve seen vram use over 20Gb several times with 4K. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

September 22, 20241 yr Even if my PC ends up being powerful enough to run MSFS 2024 at reasonable detail levels, I cannot imagine that 1080p resolution will require anywhere near the 32GB RAM that I already have. The 6GB VRAM on my GTX 980Ti is also not troubled.
