  • Hey - just wanted to clarify a couple bits here as I've also been slightly misquoted, so figured I'd keep things purely factual. Firstly, for our intents and purposes we own the code running Feni

  • Too little too late.

  • Indeed. And personally, I like the Fenix much better as a developer. Their dev team (and Aamir) is SO nice and forthcoming and open with regards to their developments. I'll just stick with the Fenix.

Hopefully they can change course and get us a high Quality NEO.  but honestly they'd have to make it sub $70 USD.  I would buy a high quality NEO/XLR package for 70 bucks. I bought the IflyB38M even though I have PMDG 737s.   LVFR with the FBW cockpit worked for a while, but now that the we have the Fenix A321 I never use it.

It really shouldn't matter whether you prefer Fenix or FSLabs, this is good news for everyone. FSLabs has always raised the bar. They know that they have competition, so their aircraft will likely be the new No. 1 A321. Now, do you guys believe Fenix will just sit idle and stay the No. 2? Competition has always been good, I think the next few years will be very interesting for us Airbus drivers of any camp.

This.
I really can‘t understand the snarky comments here. It‘s great to see FSL finally back. Yes, there already is a high quality A321 but who can tell what else they have in development? And I‘m really curious to hear what the real world A320-rated pilots think about the systems and flight model.

FS Labs who?

Distributors of Test.exe....

Got the Fenix in MSFS & Toliss for XP, both are excellent so absolutely no need for a new bus. Only way I'd look at this would be if the Fenix isn't updated for FS 2024..

The A321XLR first delivery was last week to Iberia, way to early to have reliable data on that one.

Holy!! I really forgot their prices for P3D, they just charged for the SL update 70$ (only 320) and Fenix has given that for us with the highest quality for ... Free.

They can make some amazing pieces of software but dang they make some poor business descisions.  That being said, as an a321 lover i might still buy it if they can raise the already rediciluously high bar fenix has set.  And it better have service based (mtbf) failures.  I do wish it was a neo/lr/xlr though.

They could add it later while releasing a plain NEO orginally, remember we didn't even have IAE engines on the A320 CEO when most of us bought Fenix.  We only had the promise of it.

One can appreciate the quality and history but still find the business decisions really dumb and potentially damaging/concerning.

If they debut in MSFS 2024 and they hit a wall of poor sales, which they most likely will, it's not good for anyone.

They can be as good as you want, but the vast, vast majority of MSFS users don't know who FSlabs is. Their brand has limited value in this market.  From those who do know, detract those who already have a high-quality A321 and don't want to purchase a new one (especially since their competitor has the advantage of consistency since they offer the whole family), and you get a very, very niche market.

The saving grace may be that no matter how poor their sales will be, they likely won't be as bad as on P3D, but after surviving for years on the dwindling P3D market, I can't imagine that their bank account is exactly overflowing, and I'm honestly seriously concerned about their ability to keep paying the bills.

The only way I can rationalize this decision and its timing is that they may be releasing whatever they have available as soon as it's finished to give their finances some breathing room, which is frankly even more concerning.

I anticipated for a good A330/neo from them. This is a bad business decision indeed.

A lot potential would it have with A330.

This is the difference between PMDG and FSLabs, or should I say, Randazzo vs Lefteris. Randazzo clearly saw the potential of MSFS and jumped on the bandwagon so early. Lefteris thought the P3D market would last forever and it was bizarre when he announced the Concorde for P3D back in the fall of 2020, when MSFS had already been released and it was gaining traction.

Now if Lefteris had also jumped on the MSFS bandwagon early and attempted to push out an A319/A320/A321 before Fenix could release their A320, things could look radically different now. But nope, he was still a believer in P3D up to and including 2021, and by then, Fenix had a huge headstart over FSLabs.

You snooze, you lose.

All what you have said here is complete speculation. Who’s to say they don’t have commercial contracts which are a higher priority for them?

How about we wait for an official announcement from Lefteris before making anymore baseless comments.

4 years late, sounds about right?

Probably a consequence of their snail pace development, that business decisions that seemed good a year or two or more ago are no longer, given the current MSFS market. An A330 surely would've been a better initial release, or even a Concorde.

Now let's see if what they said before about certain never-seen-before features could be a differentiating factor, but I just can't see this doing all that well given the Fenix.

Can it be even better than the Fenix? We'll see.

Now, price will probably be a decisive factor. No way FSL can justify their usual prices, even more when Fenix is a bargain for the quality it brings.

The cockpit looks little better then fenix. Fenix look during daytime little cartoony, But will it be worth the money when you already got the fenix who knows. Maybe they do some ground breaking stuff like in p3d.

Fenix looks cartoony?  Haha first I've ever heard that.  I think Fenix have the best textures in any plane I've ever seen.  The C414 and C24R from FSW are a close second though.
