Anyway. I really don't know why anyone is surprised or disappointed by any of this kerfuffle.  

One surprise though was seeing the pilots standing up through the aircraft roof in some screenshots. This was an issue months ago and is a bit of a biggie in terms of immersion breaking graphical glitches. I thought it might have been taken care off.  

Surely everyone who pre purchased is surprised right now.... unless they pre purchased to stare at a loading screen for 4 hours...

A totally unexpected rush of worldwide flightsimmers is stressing the MS servers right now. Users report loading times of three hours and more, just to get stuck and being forced to reboot.

Hard drive space is not the issue. And yes, I do have addons for 2020. I just have no need for two sims installed. Looking at how I used MSFS2020 and having seen the advances of MSFS2024 during the few days of the tech alpha, I saw no need for keeping MSFS2020. I fly low and slow, I like Carenado style aircraft; MSFS2024 gives me a lot of that and more. I can fill my very spare free time with default MSFS2024 alone, no doubt about that!

By the way, was I shouting? Not much more loudly than those who insisted on keeping MSFS2020, I hope 😉

4 hours of installing, I force quit and restarted game at stuck 97%, now in Queue.

Remember, all this networking and server stuff is rather new and difficult for Microsoft so puppy eyes in their direction please.

So apparently MSFS 2024 launch did not go as planned - What a nightmare. I don't have much hope with what it holds either. Those who were lucky enough to get loaded in sim- already seen several bugs and issues with the sim. Not something every one was anticipating. 

I don't understand people who could not find Community folder. Install a good PC freeware search utility. I use ultra file search (free). It found the community folder in 11 seconds. Over 6 years, this utility has saved me hundreds of hours. There are others too, I like UFS because it does not use indexing which is a resource hog.

Was able to install and fly a pattern. Exited and rebooted and now in the queue for some reason. To make it worse it says installed an ready to play. (steam)

Yeah, seem like nearly every that has 'gotten in' has easily found an issue or 2.

Mines been on 0% - Loading Language for over an hour. Do I quit or leave it to run?

I've tabbed out and still using my computer so hoping it's still going in the background.

Haha dang, something funky going on with the career mode intro. My fans suddenly started spinning, then noticed in Process Lasso that every single core was pinned at 100%

CPU currently at 80c, it's working harder than when running the OCCT Linpack stress test and Prime95

I was hoping that MS/Asobo would have learned their lesson from MSFS - But apparently they haven't!

Is the Queue screen actually functional or is it just another endless wait screen?

Do you mean you have a hat switch but can't get it working? On the controls section, do a search for LOOK. There are both cockpit and external mappings for up/down/up-left/up-left/etc. (use the regular ones and not LOCKABLE) Both cockpit and external mappings need to be set. This was probably the trickiest thing to set up since it sometimes registers the diagonals (up-left/down-right/etc) as two inputs so you need to redo it.
