November 20, 20241 yr We have worked hard with our partners, including Asobo and others, to bring you an amazing sim experience. The excitement for the sim today has been overwhelming, but we encountered an issue with one of our services handling the new systems in the game like career mode and various missions. The server responsible for handling data requests got overloaded, causing delays and errors. As a result, players are experiencing long loading times and missing content like aircraft. We have solved the issues and are now bringing players in at a steady pace. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We will keep you updated on our social channels, forums, and website. Thank you very much for all your feedback and support." https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/discussion-hub/general-discussion/142 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
November 20, 20241 yr Well I was in. The game locked up before I could get off the ground and I had to Alt-F4. Now I'm back to Queue screen each time.

They did load tests with 200,000 concurrent users but actual release day was much more. Frankly they should have known it'd be way way more than that? But I like the honest and transparent report.. hopefully they'll keep doing more of these. I wonder if they based some of this off preorders and they're getting a lot more GamePass users than expected? Because I agree... they should have tested for at least 500k users. I wonder what the final numbers will come in at once the dust settles... Disappointing that they didn't have a plan in place to quickly add capacity if needed. Or at least, they didn't have a plan in place for the cache servers. Fast Azure storage is not cheap though, so it's possible they got some pushback from MS.

Abrams just to be clear, unless I misheard, they planned and load tested for 200K, but they got way more. Wonder if they'll ever tell us how much on day 1. Did you really think that once you loaded the first time you would be able to load back in again? No that’s not how cloud loading works. It didn’t install anything. You’ll compete for connection every single time you do anything in this sim. Enjoy.

How could they not have the numbers from the preorders from the MS store and Steam? That should have clued them in. This baffles me to no end. Edited November 20, 20241 yr by Lotharen
November 20, 20241 yr I imagine the Game Pass numbers are hard to estimate. They really should have just had an early release for people buying the game to stress test stuff.
