November 21, 20241 yr The number of bugs I'm finding with the UI is atrocious, it's utterly pathetic that they didn't beta test this thoroughly before release and that's not counting the server problems, very basic UI stuff that school children could fix. November 21, 20241 yr Author @scotchegg Slurs ??? 😄 From the dictionary: The term Frenchie, which comes from the English French, is used to designate a person of French nationality, or sometimes simply French-speaking. The term can be used pejoratively or in a friendly way. Example: I love this little Frenchie's accent. Left, right. The ailerons and elevator of my joystick were correct right away. Then i started to set keys for moving to the right, left, up and down when in the cockpit. So i select the "Keyboard". When I assign a certain key for "move left" tha same key was already assigned to another function. Instead of simply overwritte it it stayed assigned to now 2 different functions. So I deleted that first one that was already assigned. But it didnt allow me and wanted me to create a new profile. I saved a new profile "test", then I tried to set up other views. After a while he asked my to re-create another profile (!). What exactly happens here? So i gave the same name to not loose all my previous settings and named it "test". Seemed to have been accepted. But then some of the previous made settings were gone and not working anymore etc. I tried many times back and forth and was never able to have all my base controlls and basic-views working. And I simply don't understand what it does in the background. Edited November 21, 20241 yr by Franz007 i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM
November 22, 20241 yr This is the most useless program! More than once I have started it up and had it so the aircraft won't even move. Brakes are off, throttle at full, plane sits there. I haven't been able to set up the controls, they do whatever they want. I cannot state how disappointed I am in this product! My old account was became inaccessable so I had to create a whole But I have been using flightsim for a quarter of a century, despite the counter which says I'm a new user...
November 22, 20241 yr There will be a ton of keybinding guides and videos on YouTube soon enough. It is different, and I feel it's better, but it takes a bit of trial and error and figuring it out. Once you figure it out, though, it is perfectly ok. I have a Bravo Throttle, Sidewinder FF2, Keyboard, Mouse and Xbox Controller all configured pretty much exactly as it was in 2020, and I can use the sim as I'm used to. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

November 22, 20241 yr So, out of curiosity after seeing the complaints about UI here, I have finally installed MSFS2024 yesterday evening to take a look by myself. I expected a completely different, "impossible to navigate" UI, with completely different settings that made no sense, and according to some people here, a control assignment UI which is unusable and will make me want to go back to MSFS2020. And as expected, it was nothing like that and most of these opinions could be used to make vegetables grow faster. The options are more or less exactly identical, changes are minimal and it was very easy to navigate and set the options to match my MSFS2020 options. The control options were a bit more different... like, the filters are now at the bottom of the screen instead of being on the left, and the peripheral choice is not on the left instead of the top of the screen. Wow... Much lost, very difference... It takes what? 20 seconds to get used to it ? Unacceptable 😄 Heck, there's even a profile for the keyboard to revert to MSFS2020 key assignments ! 🥰 That being said, some things are different for real. For example: I couldn't find an option to get rid of the cinematics during the loading of the sim. I couldn't find an option to disable the music during the loading (music in the UI can be disabled exactly like MSFS2020, no problems) I couldn't find any options to get directly in the cockpit instead of the walkaround (yet) Now, I didn't have much time to test. Performance is good in 2D but was catastrophic in VR... until I realise I had to set the trees and grass to "low" to make them look as in MSFS2020. That means some settings have the same names, but the values don't result in the same visual quality and performance impact. I have to take the time to find a proper balance between quality and performance again because my good old GTX1070ti should have already gone in retirement a long time ago 😄

You can't remove the trailer from playing if that's what you mean, though. No option to remove music or skip the walkaround from what I've found... I hope they add the option to remove chocks/covers in the EFB instead of getting rid of it completely. There is a greyed out "Aircraft information" section (or something like that), I hope it's a placeholder for stuff like that.
