December 11, 20241 yr Genuine question - are many of you having problems throwing tons of addons at the sim? I didn't even notice an obvious difference one way or another with this patch other than having to re-enable some stuff in the marketplace. I didn't do any in depth testing, but my sim runs fine. The only area I have trouble is the career mode which honestly I've been avoiding anyway. The thing is - I have only a handful of things installed: shift-z stats A handful of GA payware aircraft, COWS DA42, Sting S4 and a few Carenado birds. No scenery other than the one freeware California airport that Vincent updated. Initially, when the sim forced everything from the marketplace to load, I had nothing but problems, but once they turned that off (I actually buy a lot from the marketplace), the sim runs well for me. As Ringo Star said, "I say this with peace and love". Some of you need to park this sim in the maintenance hanger for a couple months. It is going to take time for addons to be updated. It is obvious that the "everything should just copy over" was not correct. At the very least, keep your sim minimal. It is like MSFS2024 destroyed your world, but you can go back to 2020 or any other sim that irritates you less. This is your spare time, don't let it be taken up by something that isn't making you happy. Edited December 11, 20241 yr by kerosene31 ------------------------- Craig from KBUF

Most people won't go anywhere else (like me) because 1. It will be the best sim over time, 2. We have paid good money for it and don't want to give up on it, 3. We will have to relearn another sim if we do and it all takes time. On top of this, you can get enjoyment out of it in its current form (like you and many others do), but we all have different expectations of course, as we can see from this thread. So, regarding how Asobo work and the huge amount of work they have left to do, we will have to live with it unfortunately. One hope of mine would be, after developing the awesome planner and smashing it out of the park with the Garmin units, I wonder if Working Title could help out Asobo in terms of working through the bug list, even if it means them dropping other future developments at the moment, such as ATC (if they are currently looking at it - just an example). I completed another (almost) flawless flight with the Vision Jet (Asobo) version from EDDH (Hamburg Airport - Addon) to EDAZ Schönhagen in the Berlin area. This is with live weather on. All settings medium to high, as per Nvidia optimization. No noticeable stuttering, even when entering/exiting cloud cover or on approach. Framerates on the ground in Hamburg were between 40 and 45, during cruise around 60 to 62, and never dropped below 50 on approach. GPU utilization was between 85% and 95%. Since I'm GPU-limited my processors never went above 40%. Vnav in the Cirrus Jet (Asobo version) works just fine. I had a couple of issues with double-assignments on my joystick, and I forgot to engage the AT. I also grudingly reactivated my Navigraph subcription, since I find the Jeppesen charts easier to read than the LIDO version.

If X-Plane could handle third party ATC and AI traffic, and have reliable ortho the world over, streamed (I know there is an app for this), then I'd move in a heartbeat Uh... it can. Say Intentions works with X-Plane. 3rd party ATC. And it integrates partially with the Live Traffic add-on. And you've already noted that there's a streaming Ortho app that works quite well. But back to MSFS2024 and this latest patch: I'm quite happy to see MS/Asobo releasing regular updates to improve the sim. It started as a complete mess for me but has been slowly been coming together. I'm not quite ready to uninstall 2020 but I am starting to mess around in 2024 more regularly. So keep those fixes coming.

The Saab and pretty much all their planes were complete garbage on release. I had these expectations before I even loaded the sim. Weeelp! I was I correct. King Air from Carenado as well.
