And if it's under the warranty period like my computer was, you can get them to fix and exchange parts. I know of two people who went down that path for exactly those reasons. Both of them had to have their extremely expensive graphics cards replaced, one whose card was broken on arrival and the other whose card broke not long after it was first used. The same guarantee is offered by most component suppliers, Amazon in particular, but they don't charge a 15% premium. The basis needs to be are you competent enough to build your own. If you are, excellent, if not, then like anything else that you need to have done, but can't do yourself, pay someone else to do it for you. Faced with the same problem, the only thing I might have done differently to the OP, is to go to my local compter repair shop, instead of an internet forum.
January 29, 20251 yr https://www.3dmark.com/ This very useful suite of gfx card tests and stress runs has been the gold standard for over 20 years and is 75% off right now. I had issues recently with bios settings and windows power settings playing havoc with my 40 series card and this helped me fine tune my system to good temps and stability again. In your case the card just sounds bad but if you get a replacement this software is perfect to test and tweak it. Russell Gough SE London

Like I consider myself to be somewhat computer literate (I graduated in Computer Science for my undergrad and I also worked as a software developer for many years). I have also changed parts in my computer before, including changing the CPU, changing the GPU, and changing the RAM. And I fiddle with BIOS if need be, to troubleshoot and also to get what I want done. However, I have never built a computer from scratch by myself. One of the biggest reasons is that if I mess up or a part is defective, I simply don't have spare parts to swap in to test to figure out which part is not working. Having spare parts to test with is very important, in my opinion, so you can quickly determine which part is defective. The computer shop will always have spare parts to swap in and test, so they can quickly figure out which part is defective. For the extra 15%, I will gladly let the computer shop handle that, especially if they give me several years of warranty as well. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
January 29, 20251 yr My current PC was the first one that I ever built myself (five years ago). I am extremely proud of that achievement, but it was not all smooth sailing. My first attempt to boot up the PC failed, so I was in that position of not knowing which component was the source of the problem. I took it to a local computer store, but they ended up not having the time to test it properly (and they also did not have some of the necessary spare components to test it). I ordered a new motherboard, but that did not resolve the problem. Eventually, I managed to find someone who had a spare CPU that was compatible with my motherboard......and that test revealed that the i7 7700k CPU was the lame duck in the system. I purchased an i5 7600k CPU......and the rest is history Fortunately, I was able to return the new motherboard for a full refund, because it arrived minus a couple of fixing screws. January 29, 20251 yr Author Ok I went and returned my card and swapped out for another one, no problem. Used ddu cleaner for a new card install, downloaded the newest drivers for rtx 4070 first, unplugged my internet, ran ddu, installed new card, loaded the new drivers, reboot in normal mode, tried to start msfs 2020 same thing, there is no way its the card. I'll try the msi afterburner and see if that helps. I'm so mad. about this. Did you use the power cables that came with the new power supply? The pinouts do vary across brands--it's always a good idea to use the cables that come with the power supply. It also helps eliminate the possibility that a bad power cable is the problem. When a GPU works OK during boot and when running programs that don't heavily load the GPU, and then crashes when heavily-loaded, that's usually a power delivery problem. The most likely culprit is the PSU or a bad cable or cable connection, but it could be a bad connector or an issue with the power regulation on the GPU itself. That said, if the GPU passes a stress test like OCCT or Unigine Heaven, and then bombs when running the sim, that's more likely to be a driver or software configuration problem. A true clean driver install using DDU or (my current go-to) Revo Uninstaller to remove all the lingering remnants of the old drivers followed by installation of a recent driver is the best path forward in that case. And it might be worth trying to install a slightly older driver that others using the same GPU have used successfully. Occasionally new driver versions are problematic. January 29, 20251 yr Hi, Sounds miserable and disappointing. Don't know whether this will help you, but I recently upgraded from a GTX 1080ti to an RTX 4070 ti super. After installing it at first, I had similar problems with frequent blue screens and CTDs in MSFS (20). What seems to have settled it down for me was to firmly reseat the card into its slot. It looked lik eit was in fine already and all tests ran OK, except MSFS. But once I had reseated the card, it was then fine. Maybe try that before going for a replacement. Ps I also subsequently upgraded my 750w PSU to 1000w. Good luck!
January 29, 20251 yr Author Ok update, I have reset windows, I had the msfs 2020 start screen at least run this time. I am installing right now after losing so much, Almost would have been better to buy a new computer, lol at least I am somewhat hopeful, I'll keep everyone informed if I get it going, maybe something was loaded into registry or drivers that was bad, only way to get rig of it was to reset windows, I have been with msfs form the beginning so I hope I maybe had something wrong loaded. I'll let you all know. Thanks for all the advice Anthony Anthony Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHZ, 32 GB ram, win 11, gtx 4070 Super

January 29, 20251 yr Check that your RAM modules are properly seated and in the correct slots. The "Application Error 0xc0000005 (Access Violation)" could mean a problem with RAM.
