I like what I see so far. But how can I get rid of the notification in left down corner.

  • I'm not sure if DLSS swapper is going to be the saviour here. As these files are nowadays handled by the latest Nvidia driver. Well, that's the way I understand it - things are still very messy. The l

DLSS4 vs DLSS3 performance comparison

Settings:

MSFS 2024 SU1 beta | 4K | SDR | DLSS+DLAA | FG | TLOD 200 | OLOD 200 | Ultra settings (some settings e.g. DOF and motion blur set to low)

Situation:

LFPO Paris Orly by Jetstream | Cows DA42 parked at stand E71 | Default exterior view | BATC set at 5-10-10-5 (85 to 90 total AI aircraft)

Note:

  • 572.16 is the latest driver from Jan 30th
  • 566.36 is the previous driver from Dec 5th
  • DLSS4 = 310.2.1.0 (Jan 31st)
  • DLSS3 = 3.8.1 (Nov 13th (Dec 7th for FG))
  • Preset F used with DLSS3, preset K used with DLSS4

I used CapFrameX for 1min sessions to get these values.

Comments:

  • No significant differences in terms of average FPS
  • 1% low average FPS is significantly better with the latest driver = sim is smoother

My thoughts:

The sim is more smooth with the latest driver. This is easy to notice when panning around or buzzing over the airport in drone view. There's however no significant performance difference between DLSS3 and 4. The image quality might be better (e.g. hopefully less glass panel ghosting and less FG-related artifacts), although I haven't tested this specifically. But I'm sure there's no shortage of YT-videos that discuss this 🙂

FTV <2ms % is the portion of the frame time variance less than 2 milliseconds. Higher is better, and correlates well with how smooth the sim is.

Use these two files (linked from my google drive as I've forgotten the original website). Use dlssindicator_off to disable the registry entry.

Cool that is what I did with you video.

Now is the fffff setting good for 2020 like 2024 or do I have to change it for 2020.

Sorry, Should have kept reading.

back in action. Properly installed in both 2020 and 2024

Deleting the Nvidea App solved the problem of 2020 crashing.

Thanks for the help.

Agree, image quality and ghosting have been improved. There’s been no performance improvements in my experience. Thanks for post.

So I cannot get this to work after spending some time over the weekend following all the guides - hints and tricks. Clearly this is not a system issue as Indiana Jones and the great circle works just fine with preset K, but for 2024 I’m still showing J.

tbh I’m getting good frames and minimal ghosting with glass cockpits on DLSS quality mode and using FG - I’ll wait for Nvidia and Asobo to sort this out.

You put «latest» preset in the NV app and yet the sim shows preset J? Strange...

I am not seeing FPS “improvements” but the visual quality and smoothness improvements are striking in 2020.

For the record, the latest DLSS swapper has an option in the global settings to enable/disable the overlay text showing the DLSS version+preset used in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Also, I dont understand,  how I can be on preset K just by installing drivers 572.16 and swapping the DLSS version with DLSS swapper ? (Moreover,  it was following a Windows 10 "Reset your PC" and no use of the nVidia Inspector to set the K profile or any value to 0x1 or F...)

Typo

Am I missing something? I see you guys swarming over DLSS4, but all I can see no considerable performance improvement over TAA, just that my numbers on the Fenix stopwatch become barely readable and lag one behind the other, same with speed band etc.

Either I am doing something very wrong, or are you just accepting that? I merely followed Ian's tutorial on the first page. I had all the options and set them the same.
