Attacks on BATC...Are they warranted?

Featured Replies

I'm seeing a lot of attacks on BATC cropping up and it makes me wonder if it is coordinated.

BATC is an early access product that is optional to purchase.  It is $30.  I've seen less criticism on $60 products that some would say are garbage.

BATC is a work in progress.  They are frequently updating the product and they have two modes --early access and experimental.  There is a ton of information out there about the product.  So everyone buying basically knows what they are getting and what are some of the challenges to come when they purchase.

It seems some are going beyond criticism of the product and are trying "scare" others from buying the product and offer no alternative other than a competitor who has, btw, its own flaws.

Anyhow...I hope I am wrong about this.

If BATC developers read this, thank you for trying to improve the ATC experience.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the product even though there are still some ways to go.  Ignore the detractors!   I purchased the experimental branch for $60 and I would have paid more compared with many other products I paid for that I still can't even use in 2024 or are worthless.

The sad irony is that BATC or other ATC programs wouldn't exist if Microsoft had done ATC properly to start.

  • Seems to me like this is orchestrated. Two threads were started by two who hardly ever post on this forum, on the same day.  Very strange.

It is odd indeed.  I use BATC every flight and while every once in a while it does something that annoys me, it’s generally so much better than any ATC experience I’ve had in any flight sim and it gets better with each patch.  Maybe some are expecting perfection but I agree, I don’t understand the noisy threads lately.

Yeah, it's a little weird and a few low post count folks.

It does seem directed, and tends to make the vitriol directed to PMDG and INI builds seem tame 🙂

It is definetly not a flawless gem of beauty. I also appreciate that a lot of this stuff is geniunly hard to program.

I have been a beta tester on three different ATC products over the years.  BATC is by the far the best I have seen so far, still has a way to go, but they did say it is early access. I am on the experimental version and get sometimes 4 updates a week.

It's sad and unwarranted.

Some people think that this forum is twitter. Throw the rock and hide the hand.

Wouldn't be surprised if it is orchestrated seeing the slimy marketing techniques SI have been using the past year.  It's already a known fact they compensate people to post positive comments all over the forums so maybe they changed strategy....

Everyone is just more entitled these days and expects fully working software (even when things clearly stated they are early access).

For me though, there's no real solid ATC program yet.

FSX did it okay (unless terrain was involved lol).

I'm hoping WT puts more effort into the sim - I've offered my free support as well.

Help them out.

People love to complain, I don't use it that often, but it's been OK, not perfect, but what is perfect these days, it will get better overtime. Do I regret the $60 spend. No

I agree that it may sound orchestrated and I hope it isn't because I am still trying to see some genuine root for these threads, but in our days where so many unfair "marketing" techniques can take place one never knows 🥴

For me BATC has been the atc robot I use the most after having started with FSHUD, and considering Say Intentions.

I hope they can all survive and continue evolving. There's place for all!

Im the one who opened the other thread. Im not happy with batc, and i wanted to say it and ask for a refund.

im not director of orchestra. Its not orchestrated. Im just an un happy customer who spent thirty dollars on something that doesnt work at all as expected.

thank you.

I've been using BATC since launch, and yes there's been some hiccups, but nothings bad enough for me want to stop using it.

I couldn‘t image flying without it anymore. It is already miles ahead of default ATC in its current state. Even if the guidance isn‘t always perfect, the immersion from the (premium) voices is always there. And it is being updated all the time. Often enough it manages to impress:

I was on short final yesterday, and AI traffic was asking for takeoff clearance. It was told to hold short. Only as I had safely passed it was the other aircraft told to line up and wait. When I had exited the runway, take-off clearance was given. That is as real as it gets.
