I’ll say I certainly appreciate the competition between the AI products though; it only benefits the community.

Indeed....we have choice....for each taste something that fits most likely good.

I like that and that's why I find it important that we share our thoughts....

The devs read them and probably enhance the product in the direction people like to see it.

BATC won an award?  What for, the worst vectoring in an ATC product?

A vast majority of my vectoring has been fine.

Occasionally I'll get an airport that it doesn't understand how to vector properly, but you can report those issues on the Discord and they'll look at it to improve it.

The vectoring has been greatly improved in the last few weeks of updates. Most of the time, it leads me right to the FAF.

I do not bash the OP.
It is more then fishy that in the last days every second thread is about how bad BATC is.

But: I just express myself 😉 (and I do not defend BATC, I just wonder what happens here)

Well based off of another post/poll that show BATC is being voted as the most used ATC program and after they just won a well earned FS Award, its easy to see that there should be a vast amount of interest and user base to their product. I'm happy to have supported them with a purchase to their product and gave them a fair look using it on a good amount of flights.

However, I agree with the OP and have since stopped using its ATC for now. If there wasnt other options for ATC I probably would try to endure but for now it still has show stoppers on each flight. I can deal with hiccups as in real life ATC are humans and can also have off days. A saving grace to another ATC program that I use is that if I dont like an instruction and its VFR, I can cancel my IFR and go VFR.

This happened on a recent flight into Santa Barbra where I was given the next controller but heard the wrong hand off freq. I was being vectored towards a hillside and was getting too close for comfort so I just went V. However, had I heard the correct freq. I would of been cleared. Heading towards a hill side and being close to set up for my approach, I was starting to get behind the plane so I just op'ed for canceling IFR.

Afterwards I looked at the logs to see where things went sideways and noticed had I heard the correct freq, the flight would of stayed in good standings. I took a pick of the mountain and my Garmin Pilot Profile as I was interested in seeing if this program would put me into the mountain or not prior to the freq call.

Does BATC offer this kind of flight logs where the user can look at their flight to see where things might of been misunderstood or help troubleshoot a flight? I find it highly useful to read what AI thinks I said but then when I listen to the radio call I hear the correct wording but I do see where I talk fast or mumbled so I am always impressed that its able to figure out what I say.

I think the player.log file in your BATC installation folder contains a record of instructions and readback.

That is the one thing BATC should be more or less perfect with in an ATC addon.  More complicated things like Sids/Stars/go arounds etc can be less than perfect in an early release.

If you are using BATC, you should know that all the ATC  instructions are on the GUI.

I can read them for a flight, yes. Two things, wasnt sure if they were logged in a way that allows to later submit to BATC for helping trouble shoot. Secondly, if there were any audio logs allowing me to review if it was me.

Since I do use BATC for traffic injection I have it running on every flight now and do go back and look at what it is doing while I talk and listen to another ATC addon. So yes it also might be my user habits as when I'm done with a flight, I close everything down. Then later, if I want to review something, I will go online on a different computer (not my simpit one) and can pull up logs as at that time I am more willing to review a flight.

So wasnt sure if there was a way to review a flight from days ago or what not as I havent really dug deep in BATC for that.

I have yet to encounter any addon for any sim that can vector as well as a teenager on their 2nd S3 session. No, the other one doesn't do any better, either.

How about randomly placing something like this in BATC to excite you:

New York Center, Delta 384:  There is something out on the wing. Some....THING!
Delta 384, New York Center: Is William Shatner onboard your flight? Again?

Or

Oveur: United 247 you are cleared for takeoff.
Clarance: Roger
Roger: Huh?
Victor: Request Vector, Over.
Oveur: Huh?
Victor: We have clearance, Clarance
Clarance: Roger, Roger
Clarance: What's our vector Victor?

Or

American 411, Seattle Center, decend and maintain 4000
Seattle Center, Surely you can't be serious, American 411
American 411, Seattle Center, I am serious, and don't call me Shirley

Would it make BATC less boring then?
