Inadvertently you praise XP12 Beta 3 as you should - XP12 beta 3 sky is amazing as you point out.  Please post a Minecraft/XP12 Beta 3 comparison image to see just how silly your comment is.

Cue the classic "Well, it’s a beta - what did you expect? How dare you be annoyed that it’s broken?" crowd.

  • And THIS is why I did not trust them after the last time they uninstalled my sim.  At least they validated my concern... Do they not have a f-ing staging environment?  It's really a bit silly at

LOL this is the essence of what you took from my message in its entirety?

If that is the part of my message is what you want take issue with sorry but i have better things to do ... We aren't discussing that .. that's all on you and your own perception issues.. and if you really want to go there we can have a discussion on the ramifications of screwing up the deployment of a software version that prevents your "enjoyment" over the weekend vs a software release that now misreports a persons pulse ox or screws up a company's billing and invoicing which now affects payroll.

You can take those examples (One of which i am dealing with right now) and then we can have a conversation about belittlement.

Why strobe light effect look so intense and feels like you are flying through the clouds? Very unrealistic. The problem has been for awhile now and not been fixed

Anyone else got really blurry runway lights at night? It’s liked someone has smudged the camera lens’s

I did last night, but that was before this latest release...yet to fire it up after current update.

Are the "GPU resource exceeded" pop ups still there?

Well...in my own words: one can't really complain if one is willing to be a beta tester. But i think the disclaimer says it better.

No complaints,  Just Vented frustration over something that seemed pretty straight forward. Not the update itself but how it was implemented. The update itself is working fine, Therefore, No complaints from the testing aspect,

Just the delivery aspect.

Can someone confirm that before each update we have to rename the community-folder, to avoid it being deleted? Btw. I tried to make a backup of it but I was not allowed to copy it somewhere else. Why is that?

But my main question is: if I am not following the sim-news every day, how can I know before launching it, if an update will be coming (so that I know I have to rename the community-folder before launching)? That’s the pount I still don’t understand. And unfortunately I have absolutely no clue which version I own, I just remember having participated to a beta 2-3 months ago…😗

My Community folder is just fine, nothing touches it. But I am also on a Steam version.

Just did a few GA flights with build 14 (SWS Kodiak 100). Great performance at 60 FPS with Medium/High blend of settings. Ground is looking blurry in some places (NW Pacific) at 100 LOD settings. Other than that, things are looking great. I can't complain too much. ATC is still a disaster. Yes, I am still getting those messages about GPU resources being used too much, but it doesn't affect anything nor does my sim ever crash. I am still at smooth 50-60 FPS with AMD's Frame Generation. Mind you, on a RTX 2060 (6GB VRAM) card and 16 GB of system RAM. For a blend of High/Medium settings on a 5 year old laptop? I will take it. That being said, time for a new laptop this year. 🙂

I never renamed the community folder, never did I delete all the contents, and I have never encountered a single issue. I put the community folder in a non default directory.

But since this update deals with the rolling cache, I deleted the rolling cache and let the sim build a new one.

Encouraging. What's your texture res and what's your peak GPU temp?

I'm running RTX 3050, 32 GB, i712650 here. And FS2024 runs as great as FS2020, in fact, in certain situations, it runs better. Three things that really improve performance are Lossless Scaling, AutoFPS, and Undervolting GPU. Most of my settings are high (including buildings, waves, clouds, and road traffic)

Thanks, my community-folder got deleted a few weeks ago during an update and have seen that it happened for many others too. And tought I had install the community-folder explicitely on my D-disk during the very first install but perhaps I did something wrong.
