Me.  Maybe we already have RC?

EDIT:  Just visited the Beta Discussion on Asobo forum.  Confirmed beta users seem stuck on .18.  RC is .20.  A fix is in the works and DONT opt out of beta

Yeah, I opted out, but it still wouldn't update.  I rebooted the PC and it took.

Bad news is it wiped all my settings for controls and what not.

This NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP.  There's no reason why your profile and setting can't move with your sim version.

  • You're not, we are the silent majority who are happily flying instead of complaining in the forums, so it seems we are just a few.

Being part of the SU2 beta was not a negative experience for me.  From day one through two thirds of the beta I couldn't run SU2 successfully for more than a minute.  Often the sim would crash before

It's funny reading the thread since I've already been on the beta hehe. I submitted quite a few bugs and I know others have to. SU2 is a good step in the right direction for msfs 2024.  It's

Can we now install stuff (e.g. my aircraft or sceneries) locally, instead of streaming everything?

I believe they moved the downloading of content in the Content Manager to SU3.

I'm afraid they will drop this idea 😟

I am keeping an open mind on this. They said early on in the beta that extra debugging code will impact performance.

I am going to replicate some of the flights I know were a stutter fest tonight to see.

Well for me this update has been a disaster. Was not in the beta so previously on SU1.
Had glorious, smooth performance everywhere, locked at 60FPS with FG on. Was really enjoying the sim.

Updated to SU2, deleted my rolling cache, deleted my NVIDIA cache and updated to the latest NVIDIA driver.

Now I just get a horrible stuttering mess. Massive FPS drops, huge frametime spikes and all around horrible performance. Tried several reboots and still the same. Did not even bother trying to fly, the stuttering and fps drops have completely ruined things for me. Very unhappy.

2020 scenery addons deplete VRAM because they're using DDS textures.

Oh, THAT'S a good nugget of info!

Will definitely keep an eye out for that.

You must mean marketplace aircraft/sceneries?

I have all of my sceneries and aircraft stored locally already.  All non-marketplace stuff.

As was said, supposedly marketplace local storage is coming with SU3 but...BUT I'll believe it when I see it.  Would be nice though.  I have a few things I have purchased on the marketplace like FSReborn things and one or two sceneries.  But I'd say 95% of my add-ons are locally stored already / non-marketplace items.

updated to the latest NVIDIA driver

Is that a requirement of the SU?

That's two really big changes mashed up into one - hard to know which is causing the error.

ETA: nothing in the release notes about needing to update the graphics driver.

Id defer the driver update for like 2 weeks unless there is some commonly confirmed issue (which is extraordinarily rare)

Ya know.... I never thought of that. And that could explain some of my performance issues in the Fenix with 2020 liveries as well.

Did I read that correctly, it’s updating our Nvida drivers? I don’t like when a program changes my working drivers.

No, MSFS cannot update your NVidia drivers 🤣

Bugger!

I was surprised to see SU2 released today - Lovely smooth performance in the air all the way through SU2 beta. However, on the ground, on approach/departure under 500ft I was going down to single digits.

Try it for yourself, I'm having great performance here, better than with 1.4.18.
