So far so good on my very old system. Mayve just a placebo effect but I think the performances are much better.

Being part of the SU2 beta was not a negative experience for me.  From day one through two thirds of the beta I couldn't run SU2 successfully for more than a minute.  Often the sim would crash before

It's funny reading the thread since I've already been on the beta hehe. I submitted quite a few bugs and I know others have to. SU2 is a good step in the right direction for msfs 2024.  It's

Did I read that correctly, it’s updating our Nvida drivers? I don’t like when a program changes my working drivers.

That would be unprecedented and HIGHLY risky.

GPU drivers are core system software and affect just about everything.

I read thru the release notes and don't see anything about 3rd Party driver updates.

No, MSFS cannot update your NVidia drivers 🤣

Ok, my bad.. I miss read the post above. ☝️

Well, all right!

Gonna take their (and @ryanbatc) advice and unlink all my 3rd party stuff, reset the rolling cache, etc.,

I've been on SU 1, so I'm cautiously optimistic to try out the improvements.

Seems like a good oppty to drag the TBM or Longitude out of the hangar. 😁

Yeah, even before Su2 release I was gonna punt the Fenix from 2024. I was thinking of just having planes that are native 2024 with all the new livery structure. I am not sure if the house liveries for the JF F28 and RJ are in the new formats. I only fly the house liveries there anyway.

I didn't even think of doing that with sceneries and it makes complete sense. Even stuff the devs released 2020 versions of (like KLGA) I noticed there .DDS files in there. For smaller airports, it may not be a big deal.

Sadly, wow, the amount of liveries I have .ktx2 versions of is small.

Ugh.

Wonderful

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, call it a stable release or whatever they want to call it, reality is its just another Beta

I was more pointing out that we finally got FSR.

Looks like they have conceded defeat on making OBS work on the G1000 - the button is greyed out now.

Also, further question on @ryanbatc's theory. Is a 2024 compatible version of a scenery made by the devs an improvement on just dropping a 2020 version in? Is it the .dds files throwing things, or just the whole structure of a 2020 scenery?

Looks like i'm going to have to wait on the BFU from Fenix due to these DDS issues. Does anyone know if the 772 for MSFS2024 is also affected ?

Bugger!

I was surprised to see SU2 released today - Lovely smooth performance in the air all the way through SU2 beta. However, on the ground, on approach/departure under 500ft I was going down to single digits.

Well interestingly I've found changing my Frame Gen setting from NVIDIA DLSS to AMD FSR has made things much smoother. Not at the same level I was at pre-SU2 as panning still isn't great, but its miles better than I'm getting on the NVIDIA DLSS setting.

If I was on the beta do I need to remove myself from the beta now?

SU2 leaves a lot to be desired, in my case unfortunately,  performance on ground has taken quite a few steps back, I didn't have any performance issues with same settings before the update. Oh well, it is what it is.
