MSFS 24 SU2 released

Featured Replies

This can't be right. After such a long time with the experience of the MSFS2020, this SU2 in MSFS2024 is such a disappointment. Performance-wise, FS2020 is much better; there are still issues with the control interface, certain places scenery is awful, and actually, terminals are missing. See KLGA as an example. All the settings are reset; this ASOBO is not capable of even delivering what was/is good on the MSFS2020. Every update breaks and resets this software; we should not find solutions and fix it for ASOBO. We did not pay for a software full of bugs. After 7 months, this software is still full of bugs. Some people claim to be "perfect," and others are in total disbelief. Something is very wrong here. Where is the quality control? Where are the professional programmers? This unprofessional company, ASOBO, needs to get its act together. Obviously, there is a good idea, but they can't deliver.

Being part of the SU2 beta was not a negative experience for me.  From day one through two thirds of the beta I couldn't run SU2 successfully for more than a minute.  Often the sim would crash before

It's funny reading the thread since I've already been on the beta hehe. I submitted quite a few bugs and I know others have to. SU2 is a good step in the right direction for msfs 2024.  It's

Here in the US and just fired up MSFS2024. No prompt for update. Never been on beta.

Well it looks like my sim updated and I didn't even see a prompt for it like I do in MSFS 2020. I show 1.4.20.0 and I have the new menu options. Is the update that fast you may not see the prompt?

Side not, I lost all my settings. 😠

Since 2024 streams everything there's no in-sim update. It will just download the new stuff as needed.

In a previous post I said SU2 had a lot to be desired, that was the case before I performed the deletion of all the cache as suggested by Fielder, performance is back and although I haven't noticed fps increased, the sim feels way smoother in every way and it ain't placebo.

Thanks @Fielder for posting.

Yes, same experience. It’s really smooth now after doing those steps.

Yes, the Store version (assume steam as well but don’t known) will silently update in the background .. 2020 used to do this too.. but then after it had to download all the assets which are now streaming in.

I must say I do NOT miss the hours and hours 2020 used to take to update.

Yeah on Steam there's a notification that the game has been updated but nothing within the actual sim.

From the silence I would guess you still have to walk around before you can fly.

SU2 added an option to skip the walkaround when starting cold and dark. Set a keybind for  "QUICK PREFLIGHT"

shader cache delete and rolling cache. But also DLSS swapper and the latest Nvidia display driver. The latest Nv driver does mention msfs2024 in the notes: something about frame generation but it seems to be for 5000 series only, but maybe 4000 series too.

So, having thought I dreamt it all last night as I didn't have much time to test yesterday, I'm beyond pleased to say it was all true and for me, this is an astonishing leap forward. It feels like I am flying through liquid glass, it is so incredibly smooth. Everything works as it should, no settings have been changed or reset, the few default aircraft I do use have been improved, it just looks, feels and performs better than ever before. I am sorry for the few for whom this is apparently a step back and I wish I knew what you were doing that I'm not or not doing that I am as it makes no sense to me that your experience could be so different, but I am the happiest I have ever been with any flight sim this morning and I can only pray that SU3 doesn't reverse any of this.

I'm (still) on the Beta. Received straight the update 1.4.20 | MS Store. Was already with nvidia drivers 576.40 | RTX5070Ti. Deleted my local cache (.CCC), replace the DLSS DLL with DLSS Swapper, launched the sim and enjoyed a steady 60 fps (display 3440x1440 60hz "limited") with MSFS Graphic Settings set to Ultra (on my new PC) | GA users flying slow & low.

Just wonder if leave the Beta and enjoy SU2 1.4.20 or stay and participate to the SU3...

What DLSS version did you move to?  310.2.1?
