  • You're not, we are the silent majority who are happily flying instead of complaining in the forums, so it seems we are just a few.

Being part of the SU2 beta was not a negative experience for me.  From day one through two thirds of the beta I couldn't run SU2 successfully for more than a minute.  Often the sim would crash before

It's funny reading the thread since I've already been on the beta hehe. I submitted quite a few bugs and I know others have to. SU2 is a good step in the right direction for msfs 2024.  It's

Hmm, weird. I'm in the UK as well

Well I always planned to install 2024 when SU2 dropped but looking like it will need to be SU3 or beyond!

Perfection goal that changes. Never stops moving. Can chase, cannot catch."

I use the store version and have not had any major issues and overall the sim has worked better than 2020. The reality is people don't typically make posts to say everything is working fine, so the people who are reporting issues are a small portion of the userbase. When I've had issues in the sim, I've been able to find workarounds here or on official forums.

I will say I don't run any addons, I don't participate in the betas, I don't mess with DLSS DLL's or manually edit config files, I keep my computer clean and up to date, and I don't automatically blame the sim when something doesn't work properly and turn to other forums (especially the Nvidia forums lately given their recent driver issues) to see if it may be something else in my setup. I'm also in a major city with gig internet (with no data caps or throttling) and a very solid home network setup and I do IT for a living, so that helps!

so, to pick a random example, your pc-24 was flyable from day one?

or did you actually have major issues with it like we all did?

it's hard to think of a single default a/c that was usable on day 1, which you must have noticed if you don't use addons

I have installed 2024 several times and always had major issues, so bad that I uninstalled each time. Finally this time no blurry scenery, no stutters, FPS locked to 30, TSS, looks great. Using updated 576.40 drivers. Had to reduce many graphic settings to get rid of annoying memory message, and also had to reduce resolution from 4k to 1440, but for me 2024 is sharper than with 2020 if set at similar resolution. Only problem is my 3080 running hot at 83c even with all the graphics reductions, and the silly walk-around still required at gate. Also poor state of AI aircraft. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to use AIG traffic due to the load already on graphics. So although I am sticking with 2020 for now, 2024 is staying installed this time. Light at end of tunnel.

Enable FG keeping your FPS locked and your GPU temp will go down a lot (consumption too).

The A400 was quite usable on Day 1. I read the other Airbuses were in good shape, as well.

So, too, were a handful of the helicopters.

The new E.V. compensation slider in graphics options cures the faded 2024 scenery. I happen to use -1.75 in 2D and -1.50 in VR.

So did one more flight last night, this time with a plane instead of a roto and at elevation.

Flew out of Cape Town South Africa via free flight with the COWS DA-42.   From free flight menu instantly went to the airport with the plane.  Seems like the "load in hang is most apt to happen in heavily trafficked areas.  African airports aren't as popular so thought I'd try flying down there.

Pretty incredibly quite honestly.  I didn't IFR/Navigraph for this trip as I suspected it would take me over the ocean and I wanted to be over land to sight see and also test performance better .  140 FPS the entire flight at 10,000 feet.  Absolutely gorgeous everything.  Super smooth panning with TrackIr, external and internal cockpit views amazing.  I was thinking sometimes, "wow" just taking in the scenery and detail of the plane.

Few bugs that deserve to be mentioned:

1) The Cape Town airport runway seemed to have foliage and such on the runway.   I was wondering if that is just normal that they don't have a pristine runway down there. The plane recognized the foliage and did bump a little on takeoff.  Thought that was odd and maybe a bug?

2) Of the three times I started the sim yesterday, once, when I "quit to desktop" nothing happened after a minute or so.  I just closed on Steam but that was odd.

So far so good.

As an aside, those are the longest patch notes I've ever seen for any game EVER.

It does work.  Your expectations are unrealistic with software as complex as MSFS.

I fly mostly single engine props. I flew the 172 literally on day 1 (I was lucky enough to get into the sim) for a few hours with no issues. Other aircraft I flew in the first few weeks: the SR22 and Vision Jet, Corvalis, XCub, probably the PC-12 and TBM. Some had minor issues, all were more than usable.

One Question: Do you have not this issue ? a lot people here complain what happens on or at landing coming from 500 feet ( or so ) down to the runways loosing almost all FPS for some time and than coming back somehow ???? )

This was reported widely by many users during SU2 beta with video evidence from some of them, the fact it's made it through to public release is simply frustrating for those that suffer from it.
