ATC in my first SU3 beta flight:

"Cessna 172, climb and maintain FL 490"

"traffic alert. traffic is at your 6'o clock. report them insight"

I think I heard that already in previous versions. 😄

Being part of the SU2 beta was not a negative experience for me.  From day one through two thirds of the beta I couldn't run SU2 successfully for more than a minute.  Often the sim would crash before

It's funny reading the thread since I've already been on the beta hehe. I submitted quite a few bugs and I know others have to. SU2 is a good step in the right direction for msfs 2024.  It's

na, if ive paid for a product id like it to work, but whatever makes people happy i guess.

Sounds like you're one of the people who should never buy v1.0 software.

While v2024 has problems, it certainly works. And well enough that I simply have no desire to crank up v2020, which is also installed.

If v2024 didn't "work", I'd still be flying v2020, or another of the several other flight sims I have.

I found that by switching Frame Gen to AMD FSR that I removed that stuttering I was getting with DLSS Frame Gen, and sitting there stationary I had my old smooth 60FPS back and it would stay there.

Pretty sure this is related to the following note at the top of the release notes... Do you have the Nvidia App installed and have you tried forcing DLSS through the app instead of through the sim? I have a 3090 so I can't test anything with DLSS frame gen, but it seems the performance issues people are having are likely related to the below:

An issue has been identified where selecting 3x or 4x for DLSS Frame Generation may lead to application instability. A fix is underway and will be available soon. As a workaround, NVIDIA app users can use the DLSS Override to enable DLSS Multi-Frame Generation.

No I have not had the App installed since I moved to my new PC in February. I only have 2x FG selected and I use DLSS swapper to put the most up to date DLSS files in sim.
I have since found I can get smoother performance with NVIDIA DLSS FG using the FrameRateLimiter setting in the Usercfg.opt

Here in the US and just fired up MSFS2024. No prompt for update. Never been on beta.

Same happened to me today, I dont know now if I got SU2 or not. How I can know if I am now at FS2024 V 2,42 ?

Also, anytime you add or change a control, then it takes another 45 seconds to process the change. It takes so much longer to tweak and adjust controls now.

Some are saying this is fixed in SU3 beta. I never had the issue so I can't confirm it.

Ok so MSFS24 going well now.  Had to go and select my community folder again in game and seems to all be good.  Runs very smooth now 60+ fps @ 1440p optimised settings and VRAM is 6GB for the A333 *fingers crossed*.

Other than the control issues, MSFS 2024 is running well for me. But funky acting controls really take a lot away from the enjoyment.

Further, after some thought, it's even more frustrating that controls were working much better before SU2 (including Tobii, with some work arounds), but now, if they are trying to fix it in SU3 I need to be patient and wait another two months of beta work before I can have controls (and my Tobii) back to where it was before SU2? Crazy software world we live in here in FLTSIM land. Crazy I say.

Or is this not for everyone

Not for me. All smooth.

as mentioned before, forums are primarily used to vent and complain. And positive notions are unfortunately often seen as fanboyism here on Avsim and also elsewhere.

GSX pushback crashes the sim I've found? EDIT. All good otherwise. Default liveries look much better.

Installed SU2 in a few minutes. Was impressed. Elected to do the Brisbane precision landing because this challenge has been broken fopr months. 40 minutes later I finally get the bird in the air. The sim was slow and laggy.

They drop you on a 10 mile final in IMC, the plane is in a stall, no ILS, no autopilot, and both engines are flamed out. The A320 has no livery. Is this all a bug or is this the objective????

Anyways, I light the engines, configure the plane for landing and saved all 140 passengers. Was very happy to try this challenge finally!!!!

Anyone else notice that the PMDG 737 totally killed now with the latest SU?

I know it was far from perfect but it was usable but now it's completely dead.

Trying to check that I'm not the only one?

I can't check anything at all. Everything worked on SU1. Now everything doesn't work at all. I can only run Cesna every other time. In the community folder there are only PMDG772 and A350. Naturally, I reinstalled the simulator, but it didn't help. At the same time, 2020 works fine.

I think a lot are not using the Beta's as they should. It's solely used to test the software for bugs and issues Period! If you're  treating it as some freebie update, your in for a surprise!!
