I'm waiting for them to fix the FSX airport globe lighting.

I just bought the Tomahawk, so I will be using 2024 for some sightseeing.

With the exception of a few addons not currently compatible, Its been working great on my end, no issues, in fact, much better performance compared to 2020 and I have both installed for comparison.

Maybe on your end, but if you look at posts on Facebook Discord, , Reddit and Steam, lots of users have ditched 2024 and moved back to 2020 because of issues.

I spent an hour on 2024 Duxford last night. Not a soul to be seen. In fact I had to check if I was on online/multiplayer mode. I was.

Duxford on 2020 on the other hand was heaving! 😁

I will when 90% of the bugs are fixed, maybe in 6 months to a year. 😉

Except for the cache, 2024 is small and installs in a few minutes so you might want to start poking at it in the meanwhile.

I use free flight. I'm not interested in career mode. At the moment I'm using the Kodiak, the SWS PC12, the Cessna 414, the Turbine Duke, the Carenado F33a, the JustFlight F28 and occasionally the Asobo 737 Max.

I use the 3rd party airports I bought for 2020. I use the MSFS2024 flight planner. I fly with live weather.

I have a very ordinary 60mbps Internet connection. I don't seem to have any bugs, no ctd's, no stuttering on approach.

Am I doing something wrong? I'm worried.....

...Oh yeah, I get better performance with 2024 than I ever got with 2020...

This is what I really like about the MSFS team.  Their goal is to make the flight sim as good as possible, and even if other 3rd party developers are screwed because MSFS is wading into territory that these 3rd party developers depends on for business, so be it.  I really like how they decided to give LIDO charts for free, which is a threat to Navigraph.  And I know that it's unfortunate that they did not provide support for RealityXP's avionics, but after 4 years, you can see the progress that Working Title has made on the avionics in MSFS 2020/2024, and all the avionics that Working Title worked on, are also free for us!

And now the MSFS team has made the world outside of cities look good all over the world. That's a direct threat to Orbx and other 3rd party scenery developers who have made add-ons for remote locations outside of cities.  And then look at all the World Updates - also free!  We are getting excellent value from MSFS.  All the more reason for us to stay on MSFS.

If that is true, then why does the OP in this thread have 36 likes/upvotes, and the "Staying with 2020" thread OP only has 13 likes/upvotes?  Granted, some of them may have upvoted it just to support the OP's sentiment, or because Bert is so cool, but still...

It seems like the numbers may be opposite of what you think, at least here at the tiny AVSIM sample-size.

Silent majority possibly.   No reason to post when all is working well.

People should go back to 2020 if 2024 isn't working for them.  I never understand the debate.  I use 2024 only, but that's not right for everyone.  I would never pretend to know what's best for someone else, and the last thing I want is someone bashing their heads against the wall with a sim that isn't working for them.  

MS is supporting both versions for a reason.  

A lot of people act and talk like it's still November 2024. Anyway, for those of you contemplating jumping into 2024, now, join the SU3 beta right away.
