October 28, 2025Oct 28 I remember flying the P3D version of it and enjoyed it... with that said, I'm cautiously optimistic with this and will probably wait for reviews. Carenado seemed to have some good luck with their 172, but everything else seems to be 'pretty' but with no real depth. October 28, 2025Oct 28 Author I think if you buy a Carenado aircraft expecting any great depth you will always be disappointed, but they do have their place. I've enjoyed the last few so will no doubt get this one. It will be beautiful but with a few bugs, no doubt. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

October 28, 2025Oct 28 I would love their Apache and Navajo, which they have done well in previous sims. While I find the recent Carenado releases to be quite good, I found they were not too good at the bigger stuff in FSX/P3D. I have heard that the default Cessna jets in the sim are really good, but I am not sure I have the time or patience to learn them. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. October 28, 2025Oct 28 I've generally been a supporter of Carenado. In the FSX era they'd release a semi buggy product but also release a patch later, or the community would fix it IE Bert Pieke. Unfortunately I've noticed especially with these latest 2024 releases, that they are NOT fixing their buggy products. The C210 and Baron 55 have major bugs. I bought both of those because I really like the aircraft irl. In the C210 the plane is seemingly glued to the ground on takeoff and it veers to the left under 20 knots but then suddenly is okay around 40. Something way off with steering and rudder authority I guess. The Baron's CDI doesn't move at all while using the Aspen. Nor does the LPV glide path display during an RNAV approach. I was really happy they included the Aspen (wow something different than the standard HSI) buuuuut it's buggy LOL. Both aircraft also have a few other annoying bugs. There is an exception to this - their make good Piper Dakota - it's surprisingly decent - made even better with some superb freeware liveries and a cool GTNxi mod from marcfsx which allows for dual crossfilled 750/650 and also adds a basic autopilot for those longer legs. Why would they make a free addon much better than their payware offerings? Shear luck? I have no idea. At any rate I've actually submitted these bugs and more over the years direct to the lead developers. I'm quite frustrated they're not fixing them now. I cannot see myself buying any more Carenado products. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Add to that some non-functional buttons (and weird mouse behaviour) on the GNS and a range of other bugs and I'd rate it a solid 2/5. Their C172 is better but still has issues, such as horribly jerky AP engagement, with the VS always being set to '0' on engagement (not accurate), mostly due to Carenado's failure to add the pitch_pid_reset_mode=2 and roll_pid_reset_mode=2 entries to the [Autopilot] section of the systems.cfg. (These entries are essential for realistic engagement of any AP in MSFS2020/2024). Agree on the lack of sufficient updates with their 2024 releases. October 29, 2025Oct 29 I won't bother with Carenado anymore, they are just not up there with the likes of Black Square, not even close.
