December 3, 2025Dec 3 I prefer the VC of the 2020 one. The displays looked better and now the VC looks a little washed out. A bit of a shame. I hope it is not an expensive price if we have bought the P3D one, the FS 2020 one as this looks more or less the same. Edited December 3, 2025Dec 3 by simon747 Simon
December 3, 2025Dec 3 I saw someone over on Reddit did the sums on how much he’d spent on PMDG 737s since FSX and then in P3D (twice, I forgot they charged for the 32bit and then the 64bit) and then the NGXu and then again in MSFS 2020 and now again in 2024. It was $350. I’ll pay the fee just to get the NG back in the fleet but if there’s one thing these guys know, it’s how to make money! It’s just a pity that there doesn’t seem much in the way of QOL enhancements - Fenix, FSL and even ini all play nicely with GSX to give a more immersive experience, with cabin announcements etc. Gradual improvements are nice but there’s not much innovation here. Yes, I put the textures at High from Ultra and no VRAM issues for me. I can't visibly see a difference. I am only on SU3 though. Simon

Over the years, I've gotten the impression that PMDG's greatest strength lies in its self-marketing – and that this company has recognized better than others the extent to which flight simmers can be financially exploited. If I sense pure greed, it quickly disgusts me. That's also why I don't bother with all the self-proclaimed 'experts' on YT. It's relatively easy to separate the wheat from the chaff. Lets be clear, the only reason pmdg have seen success in the new MSFS platform a due to nobody like Fenix nipping at their tails with another Boeing NG. Eric

I truly don't care about cookies spilled on the floor or sandwich leftovers in the cockpit. So much time wasted on this nonsense, and there's still no fix for the broken items carried over from MSFS2020. It's already ridiculous. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Yeah you be lucky to see the bluebird 767 in about 4 years from now. The 757 has been in project for like 4-5 years and still isnt out yet. 767 might be ready for MSFS 2028.
December 3, 2025Dec 3 After reading this thread I went over to my PMDG account: my first purchase from them was in 2009 and since then I have spent over 1,300 dollars on their products. I certainly do not have any fundamental issue with them. And in fairness, compared to the large quantity of aircraft on the market, their products stand out for depth, fidelity, and support. But I will skip this "upgrade" and for the first time I find myself disappointed with a company I have long supported. A lot of these things in my view should have been part of 2020 -- a cockpit door that opens! windows that open!; a modern textured cabin!; even the detailed wheel wells were stated to be added to 2020 in a future update, not a paid upgrade. The click spots to add trash and random items to the cockpit strike me as gimmicks and to be honest I would just want to turn them off. The "new" texturing does not look that stunning, as many have said Fenix is still better. There is just nothing that interests me much and given he standards set by other high-fidelity developers there is nothing here that in my opinion implies a paid upgrade. Now, what PMDG decides about their pricing policy is up to them and I have no insight into their costs or how much of a return they believe they are entitled to for the work they do. But this time I need to say "no", I am not impressed. And so I will skip this one. The iFly is an excellent aircraft to the same fidelity as PMDG's NG, was upgraded to 2024 standards with no additional charge. In the real world the NGs are gradually fading away and given my preference to fly real world routes on matching aircraft I have less interest in an NG and much more in the MAX. MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

I also prefer to fly real world and where I fly, the Max is used for medium haul. A quick 90 Minute hop is still NG territory. Edited December 3, 2025Dec 3 by Farlis
December 3, 2025Dec 3 I find that PMDG had released their very first 737NG for MS (the -600/-700 duo) 22 years ago in 2003 for FS2004, which I had purchased and flown (the -600 being one of my favorites); then versions of it in all the subsequent platforms. Just 2 weeks ago, I flew the same -600 in MSFS2024 (actually the MSFS2020 version that I’d purchased earlier). It worked except for the use of EFB that always crashed my SIM (I’m on Xbox). I wish it was at least available (free) in MSFS2024, as it was in MSFS2020, without further “refinements”. I might get/buy their “new and improved” -900/-900ER in MSFS2024, which I don’t have now in MSFS, but not the -600. I understand that the platform iterations of the same airplane variant and pricing strategy is their own. Cheers…! Edited December 3, 2025Dec 3 by P_7878
December 3, 2025Dec 3 Let's face it, if I switch to MSFS 2024, then I will be buying the MSFS 2024 versions of the 600 and 900 when they are released. I have no problem whatsoever with the quality of the 3D modelling and textures in the MSFS 2020 version, or even the sounds. I will be happy to take delivery of the fully rendered cabin and other upgraded features in the MSFS 2024 version, and will completely ignore the whining and moaning coming from lesser members of the flight simulation community EDIT: For the record, I have no interest in seeing rubbish or half eaten sandwiches in the cockpit.
