Would you be silent if someone publically displayed an image where you appeared to be abusive, when it wasn't true?

When those people are just doing it to get a reaction from you, sure. If it's a fake image, you don't want to respond to it publicly. That shows it's working, and won't discourage them, Nay, it will only encourage them we'll get more. You don't rise the the bait. And lately, with the amount of fakes just going around in general if an image gets a rise out of me, I'd had to think that perhaps that was the reason behind the image and to research further.

I've run support centers, and interacted with my share of them. I don't believe the one going around where Chris is going "shut up, we aren't changing anything" because support people, generally, have fairly thick skins. Especially the front line ones. He also has better grammar.

Likewise, I tend to not believe the one with RSR's response to a ban with one word. I'm not sure the man has it it him to only use one word. 🙂

On the contrary, though, the one where the guy who makes Your Controls posted his interaction with Chris and the false claim he got sucked into the piracy net to be true. He was banned for something else months ago and opened a support ticket when everyone else got suspended because of the leak. That one, yah, when someone is in the middle of copying and pasting the same reply to the support tickets I can see them thinking he was like the others.

Maybe PMDG will reflect on the state that lead to all this. I think it's possible. RSR mentioned on V1's video they are at least taking a look at why it takes them so long to get products out the door. So, they are capable of *some* self reflection.

Whilst PMDG are definitely more rigid with their pricing I don't feel all the hate is warranted, plenty of options out there, just don't buy it if you have an issue

Where's my 744 for 2024....?

It's absent because the monetization of the 737NG Series is far from complete in MSFS2024 at this point, with only the -800 out so far...lot more to come still, equipped with possibly (not seen yet) enhancements ...

Now I know what I'm going to change my profile picture on their forum to...

Given that they couldn't make one for 2020.. I think you'll be waiting a while.

PMDG simply doesnt' seem able to keep up with newer devs. They are very slow, they are very expensive, they don't have any new QoL features.

As a GA guy who doesn't have a horse in this race and reads these threads while munching popcorn, I think the above could affect me just as much as it affects the PMDG fans. Why?

One has to wonder how much time Asobo spends catering to arguably their most important 3rd party dev, PMDG. From reading a bunch of PMDG related threads over the years, they always seem to point their finger at everyone except themselves. Missing from the SDK. Asobo bug. User error. Is Asobo bringing back deprecated SDK functionality just so PMDG can do their thing? Are they bending over backwards to correct a bug that only appears in PMDG aircraft? It certainly appears that way at times. Meanwhile the iFly Max comes along and, according to real pilots, does many important things better than PMDG. I'm not a dev, I don't fly the heavies, but that is the impression I get.

I remember a dev stream in the 2020 days... someone brought up a PMDG ILS issue. Jorg's response was something to the effect of "it shouldn't do that, unless PMDG is doing something unsupported instead of following the SDK." Not sure where that landed (no pun intended), but I certainly have my guesses since it seemed to be a PMDG-specific issue.

Maybe PMDG gets zero special treatment from Asobo and I'm drawing too many conclusions here. But PMDG had a choice on what sim to go all in on, and they chose MSFS. Hard to believe there was no incentive for them to choose that path. With PMDG's announcement that they'll stop supporting GSX in the future, they seem feel they have a large enough user base that they can throw their weight around to get their way.

Anyway, that is enough with my conspiracy theories... back to munching my popcorn!

They're doing the -100 first.

There was a time when PMDG released a plane that the forums were filled with comments on the plane, its strengths and weaknesses and stories about how people were enjoying it and helping each other lean it. Virtually this entire 36 pages is about PMDG itself and its staff and policies and treatment of customers. Something has woefully changed.

A lot of us are just busy flying it and enjoying it..

I really don't understand how a virtual plane that performs pretty well and does what it says on the tin elicits quite so much hate.

Indeed, things have changed in the last quarter-century.

These days, you can be one of the best actors in the world - and get zero work if you commit personal transgressions.

By 2026, for a company that wants to be successful in the long run, it won't be enough to simply produce good - or even usable - products.

Customers have become aware of how company owners and employees behave, both generally and on a personal level.

I think that's generally right and good.

Some PR people still behave like carnival barkers from the 19th century. That only works these days with more intellectually demanding clientele.

Bob Dylan was right.

I wonder how many customers have been able to get the loyalty discount without having the MSFS 2020 version?

Pmdg stop integrating gsx support in their planes and removing it in the future from planes that already have it? That’s a big one.
