Earlier I noted the above. Watching the systems video, Nick confirms he's using the new mixture model (from Working Title, he mentions) so that answers that question. Sounds like the turbo modeling is still his, however.

The Cutlass I rented was used pretty much exclusively by commercial students. You couldn't even ask to rent it for a trip. It was one of the lowest cost options for meeting the needs for that training so it was in constant demand. I would assume the guy who had it on leaseback did well. :-)

At any rate, it's interesting how everyone has the "thing" that breaks immersion for them. Clearly I didn't care about this issue but some do. The most important thing to me with addons is that the avionics work as advertised. I hate when an HSI doesn't react to the GPS sensitivity changes like from TERM to LPV etc. Or sometimes the HSI and Glidepath don't work at all! (Looking at your carenado). That kinda stuff makes me irrate.

My immersion breaking “thing” is any/all stutters. I don’t own any Blacksquare aircraft yet - are they “heavy” in terms of GPU/CPU or pretty smooth like A2A (I realize that with higher end PCs even “heavy” planes can be smooth)?

I just flew the Asobo 737 Max (to re-create the departure flight of the Southwest 250 from Oshkosh down to Milwaukee) and that thing had numerous stutters (not sure if it’s the plane or connection speed or ?) - but some planes for sure seem much smoother than others.

Growing out of other testing, I just started keeping track of the average fps of my various addons.

So far, and by a large margin, my 3 BS addons (turbine Duke, Baron, and Caravan) consistently maintain the highest FPS - only exceeded by the Default C152 - and have no stutter that isn’t obviously caused by the sim.

A2A Comanche and Aerostar are right up there as well. In fact, I (subjectively) rate the A2A’s as even a bit smoother than BS, if just a (literal) couple of fps slower.

Black square aircraft performance is fine for me too. Equal to or in some cases even better than most default aircraft.

I've read before that performance is extremely important to Nick, so that's no surprise. Even the Starship with all those screens runs better than most default planes for me.

Well to each their own.

I know many of you complain about "cinematic" videos of new products, while I rather enjoy some of them. I also enjoy Nick's straightforward and practical description videos, of course. This last one however? Nope, not for me. I find these long, rambling stream-of-consciousness captures of live streams completely unwatchable. There may well be good information buried in there, but I just don't have the patience to watch someone fumble around, chat with his buds and fumble around some more. I bailed while he was trying to figure out where to fly, and what tool to use to figure out where to fly and how to use it, and... ah, you get the idea.

I'll quit now.

Feeling curmudgeonly today I guess.

Edit: TLDR has become common with folks who don't want to read too many words. I think we need a similar acronym for rambling YouTubes as this one was very much TLaRDW.

And also, I did watch some parts, just skimming though it. I rarely have time to sit for 2 hours (kids, chores, job etc lol) but he did actually explain some things with good real world knowledge, such as the "NAV1" instrument. It's basically a more precise version of the traditional NAV2 gauge.

I've also worked on some of my own that will be available at flightsim.to - I believe we will be able to post a paint kit as well (like Tim did with the C208)

I had the exact same response to both of Belatu’s live stream “instructionals” for the Taog’s Dolphin. Normally I enjoy his vids, but…

In contrast, ShadowSix who has 6000 hours in the Dauphin, gave a masterful and enjoyable demo of that variant.
