I participated in the beta and overall it performed pretty well for me (and does now on release), but I see they never fixed the horrible terrain issie around the S43 airport I reported and others confirmed.

I see my post had “votes”, does one have to campaign and get one’s virtual flight buddies (aka all of you) to vote for particular issues to get them fixed? (Not necessarily this one, just the overall beta issue process?)

Just don't bother wasting your time, even when bugs are reported and "Logged" during beta they still don't fix them during that time, they get shuffled elsewhere then it's pot luck if they get fixed!

Edit:

See here for example #725

  • I've been at this since the dawn of 2020 and now 2024 and never had to fix anything after an update. What's beyond stunning to me is just how much stuff is addressed in these updates compared to any

  • To be honest, most of the fixes are above my horizon. I didn’t know there was problems or I don’t understand what they mean. I might be only one or at least one of the few with limited understanding

Out of curiosity I loaded up Phoenix Arizona. It had been a few months since I flew in out of PHX. Sadly Phoenix is still broken!

For some reason and I believe it just happened randomly a while back the photogrammetry scenery for the Phoenix area just disappeared in FS2024. I believe it still works in FS2020 but in FS2024 it looks pretty awful now.

As is Palm Springs I'm afraid but much worse. I was really hoping this would be fixed with SU6. The whole metropolitan area is about two feet lower than the surrounding scenery 🙃

The cloud layers are looking really great today though, for me. They've done something.

I literally laughed out loud at this exchange. It's been a while since I've watched Airplane, I may need to fire it up on the tablet (who needs a flight planner anyway?) for my in-flight entertainment as I enjoy the new SU this weekend 🙂

Updated to SU6 final and all good. actually better than the recent beta, very smooth and great (actually better) performance. had slight stutters and items popping in with the betas when flying especially into Ini EGLL but not today - and yes, I even saw landing gears on all other planes when coming into and just now when getting out of EGLL for my second leg to EDDL. nice work

This alone makes it the best update in months:

  • Following community feedback, we added an option to start a flight without a walkaround in “Free Flight” mode. Find this new option in the assistance settings.

Thank you, Nuno, for that good information.

I always feel like this is placebo effect after an update. If they improved anything with weather/clouds, I would think they would mention that. They need to do a full WX overhaul IMO...new cloud types, new atmospheric lighting, etc..

If all the rest works for me, it's all about the small things.

I can drop my opinion as well, can't i?

I guess if you aren't seeing any difference then you aren't seeing any difference but it was the first thing I noticed this morning in my first flight post SU6 and was so obviously an improvement. I am very pleased with it.

Could they be adjusting things sever side and that why it’s not in the Changelog?

I’m on vacation so I can’t try SU6

Will we see more night lighting for the default airports ? Did I remember correctly as it was announced for all default airports ? According to notes only manually updated default airports will have this upgrade. A bit confused here. Night lighting for default fields was my main thing to look for this update :(

Isn't it what the release note mentions? "Generic" means "Default", no ?

MastLights have been added to a large number of generic airports, ranging in size from M to XXL, with automatic placement. This improves illumination at parking spots at these airports in night conditions.

Check my free MSFS sceneries : https://flightsim.to/profile/vbazillio/trending and my hardware configuration.

I have not noticed any significant difference with the clouds, but I use a (modified) preset - Custom Scattered Clouds.
