August 14Aug 14 Just did a 16 hour long haul with the inibuilds A350-900 ULR from LAX-WSSS. For me, SU6 has been an amazing update. My performance stayed the same all the way through the flight, including touchdown. Rock solid 116 fps with FGx4 and AutoFPS. What was even more impressive for me were no stutters anywhere on final or touchdown - something that I was being plagued with in SU5. Also, and this could be completely made up in my head, but I would agree with what some others have said about the clouds appearing improved. I did a flight yesterday evening before the long haul into DEN, and there were some storms in the distance. The lightning even appeared more believable. Again, could absolutely be a placebo, but there seem to be some improvements there. Outstanding performance is really what has blown my mind. Looking forward to testing some other airports, but at least it's long haul stable. August 14Aug 14 I didnt notice the SU6 update installing, how can I know if it is already installed _

I know it’s not in the dev update notes, but they don’t always put everything in the notes. Did a flight last night and the way the low level clouds were interacting with the topography looked better than it ever has.

August 15Aug 15 SU6 looks pretty good and I feel my performance has improved a tad. I agree the clouds look better! However a few issues have I that I did not have pre update. When flying the PMDG 737 at night and taxiing around the airport my panel lighting would randomly turn on and off. Once airborne this was not an issue. I don't remember it doing that before. Will have to check the PMDG forums and see if it has been reported as an issue?2nd issue is my gauges seem to be pretty blurry again. Not as bad as before but definitely more blurry than before. Also it sort of looks like its frozen in a blurry sort of way. Kind of hard to explain but it was solid before. I did have this issue way back but someone posted an edit that fixed it but it seems back again. 3rd the on going issue of Phoenix area and a few others not far away apparently not working. This is a travesty and an insult to the flight simmers in those areas. I thought by SU6 it would be magically fixed but it is not. This needs to be fixed in my opinion!

Anyway, I thought it was planned for default airports to improve apron/ramp lighting like AI or auto placement thing but looks it's not the case.Is there a list of night lighting improved airports with SU6 ? August 15Aug 15 Ok it's cool enough in the UK to have a go, spent a while with all default no mods/apps just MSFS2024;Click Spots in VR still broken from SU5 🙄Some Assistance settings reset so had to disable them again 🙄Rendering delays when switching between Cockpit/External views still there from SU4 🙄Even with Textures on ULTRA and TLOD of +200 and OLOD of 100 I get horrible detailing, it's far cry from the early says of 2020 and yet more proof of major regressions from Asobo when in reality performance isn't that much better if at all (especially in VR). I've never seen 2024 look so ugly;Seeing as Click Spots are broken rendering the walkaround mostly pointless it's nice to have the Start In Aircraft option back again.Plenty of good things in the patch notes as ever but nothing groundbreaking maybe aside from Bush Trips finally making an appearance.Good to see VR fixes but no new features or attention to details.Plenty of annoyed PS5 owners and general discontent around this update from other places. So yeah it's not just me that notices the flaws and all I want is for the product to improve, but all I see (literally!) is yet more steps backwards whist tiny steps are made going forwards. Nothing on the Live Weather issues some of which date back to November 2021, I fear MSFS202X will be the only way they'll improve that area. For what it's worth I'll still enjoy MSFS2024 but my Love/Hate Relationship with Asobo will never cease 😁 Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1 Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

This is actually the best default aircraft in the sim by a country mile and right up there with the very best of the payware........and this is due to the dedication of the guy who developed this plane for Microsoft. The updates and the communication he provides are all in his own time...Jorge isn't paying for this.

Pound for pound, I think it's the best default aircraft we've seen in any Microsoft flight sim. As you say, the Albatross is already sold, so all this ongoing development is clearly a labour of love for Mike Johnson. For those who haven't had a look yet, here's a list of the latest fixes, tweaks and enhancements - and this is on top of five previous free updates:https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/grumman-albatross-hu-16-g111-thread/667391/1617 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

I've never seen 2024 look so ugly;If my textures looked like that image I'd be pretty unhappy as well. I mean that looks bad. Really bad. But the thing is... they don't.Did my first flight in SU6 yesterday and everything looked and ran pretty much the same as it ever has. I'm on an aging (creaking and groaning, really) system so I run 1080p. But at 1080, I can also easily run terrain LODs of 400 or more (with AutoFPS so I don't get myself in trouble) so - given my monitor size and distance that works out just fine for me. Perhaps I'd see things differently if I was running 4K, I dunno. This is yet another case of me sometimes feeling like I must be running a different sim. I mean, when I see people quitting, or feeling nostalgic for P3D or comparing what they're seeing to FS98 (all things mentioned elsewhere in this thread), I feel like I'm living in a different world.Scott
