So this plane is coming to 2020 first right?

So how long before 2024 one is out? Another year?

It will be released for 2020 but compatible with 2024 and fully functional. I think a 'native' 2024 version will come later...which would be the interactive walkaround stuff, etc

I assume that "abandoning" means "actively working on" around here?

This is going to be so nice. Such a versatile airplane. Two different engines. Two different models. A freighter eventually. Short flights/Long flights. And of course it fits my preferred catego

They’ve confirmed the 744. The -8 is planned, but they’re treating it as another addon this time rather than an expansion of the 744 as in p3d. As for “most anticipated”, nah - I’ve got the excellent

It would be more than just the walk around. It has to support the new flight model so that it can work well with the new turbulence and wind effects. iFly is a perfect example of this. Works great in 2020, but in 2024 it doesn't handle these new effects well and it's not always fun to fly as a result.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they have not confirmed that they are even planning the -400 or -8… But that’s not the main point, the main point is that the 757 as a result is one of the most anticipated releases ever, which I’m sure some share the same view.

Not prioritizing the more modern versions of the 747 is very baffling to me

The -400 will be released together with the 747-100. It's still being heavily used as a freighter these days and historically has much larger numbers than the -800, so I can understand that decision to go with the -400 first.

This is what will keep me from purchasing it until the 2024 version is ready.

Aren't they going with the older variants first?

I wish devs would implement letting the user open aircraft doors from the outside, and then being able to walk thru open doors via airstairs. Fenix does this and that is one reason that plane is a favorite. This allows one to walk up and into a plane, turn down the aisle and into the cockpit like pilots do in the RW. PMDG 777-200L doesn't let you walk thru an open door and I don't think you can open it from the outside. IFly's MAX 8 does not let you open doors from the outside either.

What's interesting about the Bluebird 757 is, they seem to be proactive in preparing the related systems so as part of the new Navigraph AIRAC cycle, there was some additional news that Simbrief has been prepared (not visible yet as I checked this on the site!) with the relevant 757 variants and engine config profiles.

Hopefully this is a new sign that release is not far off now?
