This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. Corsica in the Mediterranean was one of the worst examples of this and it seems to be mostly fixed, so far I've only found one small spot on the island where this is still happening. I remember Joerg asking to report places where this popping occurs so I assume each affected area is or had to be fixed individually.
  3. Can we please stop spamming the boards with pointless announcements like this? Updates are automatically anyway, whether you are in Beta or not. There is no point in telling anyone there is one when a simple firing up of the sim will trigger it anyway.
  4. In case anyone else is waiting for purchase options: I noticed this morning you can also pay with Amazon Pay now. Afaik this is a new option? Not that it helps me: it seems to be US only. Still can't buy BATC, sigh.
  5. @Lorby_SI , I just wanted to thank you again for your help. I was able to create a full Autopilot page with custom images, Rotary Encoders and push/tap actions thanks to you. I will be sharing my work, which will be for GA flights for people just looking for a simple profile to control Autopilot, Cameras and (when I figure out how) Radios. Thank you
  6. Is there any word on how long it will take for the new fleet of trucks to pay for themselves? Don't forget the cost of the wind and solar setup in the remote locations where the mines are, and replacement costs for everything as it wears out. The video did mention the need for additional trucks to replace ones being charged, even if they can get 30 minute charging. Hook
  7. Darryl, #15 especially, but also #16 and #17, are among the best shots I've seen on here. Absolutely wonderful.
  8. Rightly so. That's a fundamental basic thing any ATC needs to do. I don't want to crash into a mountain or another aircraft just because I misunderstood (and readback) a wrong altitude instruction. It's really disconcerting that SI has deliberately chosen to not correct wrong readbacks and enforce instructions on them. It shows a lack of desire to model a serious ATC.
  9. If it didn't work, it's the scenery data... because that's what BATC uses. Just because you *see* a taxiway in the sim at KORD or EDDM, does not mean it's in the actual scenery *data* and even less that it's properly connected in the scenery data. So the taxiways are not correctly set and/or connected into the scenery data at KORD and EDDM. Again, what you visually see in the sim is not the scenery data, it's the scenery's visual modelling. Those two can be very different, many payware devs really only take care about what people see in the sim and not about the data, because most people until now didn't use the MSFS ATC anyway and therefore the faulty data did not matter. This hopefully will change with BATC.
  10. I was thinking that too. If the improved pistons also deliver the specified 20% better fuel economy they'd pay for themselves in that environment as well. The cleaner burning diesel fuel is also a major plus. They were talking about passing emission requirements without additional scrubbing tech. The combination of NASA level tech ceramics and the bernoulli effect have major improvements on both gasoline and diesel engines. The downside is the cost to design the dimple pattern and manufacture the pistons, but they're talking about the pistons paying for themselves fairly quickly. One upside is that they can deploy the new pistons right now, as soon as they can be designed for each engine and need no additional infrastructure. Hook
  11. was on PC, easy update and tiles are fixed. In dx12 a might have a slight fps drop ( not much and I am not sure ) but overal testing so far is great. This tile problem was a real show stopper for me.
  12. Easy in ? Any up and down moments? Is it done from Xbox App on PC? Michael Moe
  13. I understand perfectly. And what you describe is how it should work. But it doesn’t work like this at all. And it obviously didn’t work for the ORD used in this review. And the MUC I have…. very PMDG cash money of them to say it’s the user’s issue lol
  14. You don't understant how it works: User data *is* BATC's data. It reads from your scenery, so it can use whatever outdated / fictional scenery people use. There's no other way to get taxi way data by the way, since it's not available via the Navigraph API.
  15. Huh? SI does not care at all about your readbacks or what you are doing. You can even readback wrong frequencies and it won't care. That's intentional (confirmed by the dev on Discord, to prevent user frustration on faulty voice recognition). You can readback the clearance wrong or not read it back at all and SI won't care. It's ChatGPT at its finest, being a good dog. Why do you feel it's "pushier"? I have the complete opposite experience: BATC will check every single clearance readback item and will ask you again for one element if it was wrong (e.g. "Negative, squawk is 3350") and you have to readback that element alone.
  16. You can use OpenKneeboard to capture BATC window and show it in VR world, as for any other app UI.
  17. This is linked to the airport scenery data you are using, or default scenery without 3rd party. When taxi data are consistent, taxi path computation is working fine.
  18. Well, I did try both BATC and SI on a truly short flight from EDDS to EDNY and my conclusion is as follows: Phraseology of SI was better especially on getting clearance and it was pushier to ensure I'm doing it the right way time to detect my voice was faster in BATC, SI was undoubtedly too long overall guidance throughout the route was ok in both cases BATC was guiding me down to the runway including landing clearance SI stopped working starting with the approach telling me that IFR approaches are still in work --> that was an unpleasant surprise BATC has also still a lot of flaws (i.e. not understanding the handoff frequency although read-back correctly, not being very flexible regarding commands etc.). I will keep an eye on both tools how they develop further. Both tools are at the very beginning and so it's not that important where they are today, but more how they will be in say one year. The biggest drawback of SI is the price tag. It's very heavy on the price (it's a BATC license every month). I guess the price wouldn't be that bad if you'd get a OpenAI Plus or Copilot Pro license along (which are also expensive). A key point in the future will also be how both tools will bring traffic to their environment because that changes a lot for the immersion. From what I know up to now this is a part where BATC might have an advantage because people are working in their team having experience with the topic (FSLTL). But up to now we don't have this on any of the tools. For now, I'm going with BATC primarily keeping a close eye also on SI.
  19. Today
  20. They keep telling users on their discord that their taxi way data is out of date. Hmm, no it’s BATC’s data that seems out of date.
  21. Thank you Sir! Appreciate it.
  22. Is there any plans to have the ATC tell you to monitor tower before taking off rather than always contact? Or will that come with sequencing? well either way it looks like they can’t even source the taxi way data properly gotta love early access.
  23. Thanks, Sir ! It helped - my plane was not properly generated. Now after your advice it woks !
  24. some things to check: Did you click the “Generate Flight” button (top left on Flight Edit page)? Are you seeing the correct Latest Flight entry appear on your Dashboard page (aka Welcome) in the top left box?
