  1. Past hour
  2. Looks good. Does your addon package work on top of Ortho4XP tiles and Simheaven? Sometimes they create a underlaying mesh as xxx.dsf which may create problems...
  3. PSA: Make sure you have an active flight plan in your SimBrief account as otherwise you'll just get a generic 'Failed to connect to SimBrief' error message from BeyondATC and be plonked back at the enter SimBrief ID screen. Then probably spend an hour trying to work out how I could logon to SimBrief using a browser but BeyondATC seemingly couldn't. Ask me how I know 😉
  4. We pay for things we get value from. If people get enough value from this early access, enough to justify what they are paying, then it's a win win for the vendor and the customer. Personally, I can deal with some bugs, as long as the bugs aren't too distracting, if it's ground breaking software, and I think I would derive overall positive value from it. MSFS had a lot of bugs too in the first few months of its release, but I got to say, I enjoyed it immensely when it was first released back in 2020.
  5. I don’t regret the purchase at all, it’s a very high quality addon with (IMO) a decent flight model. And yes, it is gorgeous 🙂
  6. Nice and interesting set Gerold! You travel a lot in real live...🙂
  7. Sorry, I tend to use acronyms a lot to save some time. There is a setting called depiction smoothness (or similar). What it does is basically set how long the weather transitions should take. I set it to longer, as I felt the transitions were too noticeable.
  8. Very nice payware light Bernd...they make payware products out of everything for msfs 🙂...don't take that serious, it's a very beautiful set, well done...
  9. Good setup of the graphics indeed PM, great set! 🙂
  10. Thanks @StoneDoor, I think FSLTL also brings its own contrails, so maybe SimFX enhances those? I just use the generic AI either offline or real-time and never saw a contrail. Hoping that this mod might add them even in those scenarios, but would like to confirm before buying.
  11. Initially some hiccups with getting it to connect to the sim, had to dig around discord for answers. When finally up and running, it worked surprisingly well (it’s a paid beta after all). The only huge thing I noticed was a “turn left heading 060 and climb FL160” when I declared a missed approach. Quickly after it was told to maintain 5000ft and got vectored around for another approach. Initial impression: I was positively surprised. Especially by the speech recognition (I have an accent). Was even able to read back relatively lengthy instructions correctly on first attempt. Instructions “made sense” except for the missed approach altitude Pretty easy to setup and get used to the UI Is it worth the 30$? Too early to tell. I had not intended to use push to talk, but decided “what the heck, I’ll give it a go”. I’ve never been on VATSIM or used any voice-based ATC. So despite being a complete noob, I did feel it added to the immersion - and even stressed me out a bit, I might add 😅
  12. Regarding taxi: Thats the same I wrote just in other words. All 3 have a problem right now. None of them is perfect. FSHud fails at a lot of european airports when the line up point is not in line with the holding point (you can see it when AI traffic is trying to line up and goes 180 for 20 meters and turns back - EDDL 23 L or LSZH 14 for example - default scenery). Regarding GPTs: I am actually running an AI project myself (not regarding flightsim, but for business) and I can tell you that what you say is not 100 % true. You just have to design it properly. This is a pretty new technology and it developes very very fast. Its not an if/then/else thing, its a different approach to almost everything.
  13. From my (very very limited) time with it today then it does seem like a pretty polished and very useable product. I’ve been using FS products for years and some are a basket case on day 1 and remain that way forever. On first look this is very promising indeed.
  14. Beautiful shots! Amazingly sharp and crisp, and the colours are so good. Creates a sort of hyper-realism effect, which I really like. Love that last one, which is a bit worrying - maybe I'm developing a luggage fetish <grin>
  15. Should be back to normal now. Just go to website and download Demo from there https://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html Anyone having issues downloading from there, please report on this thread. Thank you
  16. A few more details may prove fruitful. Making a set of textures for a specific aircraft can be a time-consuming project. Producing textures for what may be a fleet of several different types of aircraft for an airline is definitely a labour of love. If the textures you're after don't already exist there's a fair chance no-one else is very interested. Maybe best settle down with a suitable paint program and a couple of tutorials and learn to do it yourself 😉
  17. This isn't a swipe at BeyondATC in particular and I wish it every success but I can't help wondering whether recent releases like ActiveSky FS (which I've bought) and BeyondATC (which I probably will buy at some point) will be overtaken by MSFS 2024. Similarly, how compatible will payware airport add-ons be and who pays for any updates? Possibly likely compatibility has been covered in the Development Updates but I have enough trouble finding time to fly without ploughing through all that. In the end it doesn't really matter because I'll continue impulse-purchasing but would a more sensible person wait 6 months?
  18. Oh, well. Thank you for that warning, Bernd. In that case I just wait for my upcoming business trip to northern Finland later this year, and try to see the real thing. 🙂 Or I spent the 9.51EUR to enjoy the effect in advance...
  19. Really, give it some time at least. Both SI (for IFR) and FSHud were an utter mess when released, barely usable at all. What matters is how things improve during early access and on full release.
  20. So, true to AVSIM form a BATC release thread quickly takes a turn with 2 members each promoting their favourite ATC add-on and obviously badmouthing the subject app. Yawn …
  21. No, they are actually pretty different in that regard: BATC and FSHud use the local data (installed scenery and navigraph navdata) and therefore can give correct taxi instructions most of the time (most payware devs get the taxi data right these days). SI on the other hand reads no local data, but uses their own cloud navigraph data. They cannot and will never be able to give correct taxi instructions, because those are not available via the common Navigraph API. And, as said, SI cannot read your scenery data. So in regards to taxi instructions SI has a fundamental disadvantage. Also your comparison is not quite fair: For example in SI you can just do wrong readbacks, fly all over the place, ignore ATC instructions etc. and it will not enforce them upon you. It will probably just say "Thank you" if you insult it. And SI can not really be "fixed" by coding: Instead of fixing bugs, they have to try to tell ChatGPT what to do, like raising a child. It will always have its moments where it utterly fails and/or hallucinates, even after years of development. Also ChatGPT has no spatial awareness and can never have. It will regularly fail with vectors and literally give you the opposite ones. Again, this will likely never change, because ChatGPT is ChatGPT and has these flaws by definition.
  22. No problem paying for this. The dev was very clear about the functionality. He had a somehow stellar marketing campaign running and all this stuff, but after the discord-survey it was pretty clear what you will get for your money. The "installation as admin" is a clear problem though. So at the end - he did a lot of work in advance and now he has to make some money - no problem with that. Nobody of us is working for nothing.
  23. @techman, has gone to the trouble of comparing the same flight with three different ATC programs. The best way to check if you agree or not is to fly the same route and report your findings. Remember to depart at the same time / date for an accurate comparison. This is a completely objective test. Things either work or they don't. For those of you who have used Radar Contact v4 that would be a useful comparison if you still have P3D installed.
  24. boo .... lets support developers trying to improve our hobby.
  25. No no, it's not you. It's present times. It is what it is these days. I was just suprised at you even mentioning this, because early access has always been like that.
