  1. I am impatiently waiting for the 737-300, the Rotatesim MD80, The X-Craft e-175, the PMDG DC6 and approval on an overdraft from my bank manager
  2. X-Plane.org has a series of useful tutorials on how to fly helicopters http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showforum=109
  3. Yep there is not just one but two in progress at the moment. I think I will be buying both based on how they are shaping up at the moment
  4. But X-Plane 10 does have auto-gen sitting on top of photo scenery be it default, OSM or some of the incredible World2X-Plane stuff where buildings almost perfectly match the ortho underlays
  5. Stick with it, X-Aviation is getting hammered at the moment, it seems this is their most popular product ever. I am sure they will get to you as soon as they can. My experience of their customer service has been nothing but exemplary
  6. You certainly should be getting better fps than that. I know the 5K iMacs run XP pretty well and your set up is has as much if not more power than them. One thing to note is XP does not support SLI so its possible there is some sort of conflict there. Another thing that can bring XP to its knees is busting the RAM/VRAM limits. If you are using something like OSM scenery this is easily done.
  7. I suspect they might have been waiting for the recent data ref update that, if I remember correctly, allows third party dev to add seasonal changes easily.
  8. So many nice little products coming out for X-Plane at the moment. Its a shame a lot of them don't get the publicity they deserve. We need some AVSIM reviews of these gems
  9. There is one simple reason X-Plane will not go to DirectX. They would lose 30% of their customer base, thse that use Apple and Linux. I believe Ben Supnik wrote recently they are looking at the newer graphics engines but thats a long way in the future.
  10. I suspect that would slow down the beta process. People filing bugs that are actually features. Better to have a hand picked bunch of people who know what's what. That way the problems can be isolated much quicker.
  11. Yes it does, because it is basically the same version as the disk version
  12. Ben has explained why Steam does not get Betas. Its because they would have to cut two different versions of X-Plane. Ben's Quote "No. As I have said before, we are not running the public beta process over steam. Doing so would double the development time of pushing beta builds."
  13. LES Citation for sure PMDG DC6 IXEG 733 World Traffic 2 and version 3 of SkyMaxx Qualitywings 787 - looks stunning, yes but not being made for X-Plane.
  14. Don't forget they are also working on the professional version of the A350 a similarly complex machine as the 787. Not sure they have the manpower to do two highly detailed aircraft at the same time. The 767 will be using a lot of the code from the 757, I would imagine.
  15. Having been there, I would say they have captured it well, especially the subtleties of the colours.
  16. Something wrong there. 4K should not take a huge bite out of a 970GTX. I get 30-35 with very high settings at KSEA in standard HD on a 4690k clocked to 4.2 and a 970. Drops to mid 20's with a complex addon.
  17. Gauges in my opinion have always looked much sharper and more realistic in X-Plane so I would imagine they are the real in-sim gauges, not cut and paste photos
  18. No support for X-Plane? Hardly being different is it?
  19. MisterX6 amongst a number of others is producing some superb freeware. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=26819
  20. Have you tried RC 4 in X-Plane? It works very well with the new plugin
  21. From what I understand the X-Plane DC6 has been in development for at least two years maybe more. Nobody knows what else has been in development for X-Plane at the same time, but there has been hints of a second project. The first one is always going to have the longest development time but I would imagine converting the current range will take less time. Especially as all the relevant research has already been done for FSX/P3D and they will have learnt a lot from the DC6 Jason Row
  22. Same here, but I suspect it might just be a website error that they have not noticed. They posted a fairly big update a few days ago so I think they are still working.
  23. Let's hope so, thats how virtually all current X-Plane developers do it, and they still maintain their piracy protection with simple installations.
