I'd like to hear your opinions on this. Wouldn't it make sense to automatically disconnect the mechanic when the GSX/AES guy waves you off? The dispatcher says good-bye when the boarding is complete (you don't have to command him to go), so maybe the mechanic can follow that thinking. As far as I know, the rw folks remove the pin and equipment, then say something like 'see you on the right side with the pin' and disconnect themselves from the plane's intercom. They show the pin, the crew gives an ok with a hand signal and off they go. No? GSX or AES don't ask care if your engine starts were ok, so that step is left out and, after setting the parking brake, they mainly leave you on your own. Hence the automatic disconnect. The reason why I'm asking is that I can see the GSX or AES guy leaving me, but may still have some invisible MCE mechanic around. That's the guy I usually forget about. Sorry to his family. :P

Can anyone please share an MCE flow list for 737-800 NGX and Q400. I am a fairly new pilot so I don't have enough knowledge to create them myself and I have tried the Avsim library but there don't seems to be anything for the above models. Thanks in advance. Ronnie

I sometimes run into some sort of FO blockage it seems. When commanding a new flight level value, I can see the read text showing exactly what I've said, but the FO suddenly responds 'ok, flight level (no value)'. Then I repeat the command in full, but he answers 'yeah, but what's the value you meant' or something. I then say 40 or whatever value and he doesn't change anything. He remains on replying 'yeah, flight level (no value)' but never acknowledges the actual value. Other FO texts are 'ok, I beg your pardon, flight level (no value)' while the red texts shows a correct number. It takes a few seconds and everything is back to normal. But in that mentioned phase, MCE always prompts the correct command in red text, but the FO just keeps asking about what to do, but doesn't change a thing. I can't figure out what triggers that hang up, but it happens from time to time and is a bit nasty on the approach. On rare occasions, I also see this problem with the speed setting or the flaps. Note that the red text always shows correct commands, so I guess the actual voice engine is fine with what I've said, it's just that something triggers the blocking FO.

So this is new and might have started with installing the current version (2.6.2.1 for me). When MCE starts, it seems like it's muted and only toggling the global mute symbol (green mic symbol in the MCE window bar) then makes it hear my voice. Would there be a parameter in the ini causing this? I don't see any "mute" indication and only arrived at the global mute toggling workaround after running all the checks on my voice recog software and hardware. I've tried altering NumLockKeyMutesReco but no change. I did so because my Logitech MX5500 keyboard uses a uique way of handling the NUM lock status and I thought that this might cause trouble. Well, here are my relevant options form the MCE.ini: [OPTIONS] Debug=0 PilotIsBVI=0 UIlanguage=1033 MikeTuneOnStartup=0 EnableOptimizations=1 AutoStartWithFS=0 MinimizeToTray=1 MoreResponsive=1 TrainingCompleted=1 RandomFailures=0 TweakFsConfig=0 AtcMikeUseIvao=0 ForceCopilot=1 AudioIn= AudioOut= PilotName=Captain ShowCommands=1 ForceCommands=0 //(deprecated. Anyone using MCE can you tell me how to interact with the Cabin Crew and what kind of commands can be given to them? Like FS2Crew do they make safety announcement etc.? There don't seem to be anything written about this on the user manual. Many thanks, Ronnie

Still enjoying the voiced FO, but I saw him having trouble setting a new course. Not that he misses anything, but he walks the extra mile, so to speak. Example. You are flying course 348 and want to change to 028 after the VOR. Well, you would turn the knob to the right I guess and make those 40 degrees in no time. But my FO turns it the other way around (320 degrees), which, depending on the methods he uses when interacting with the plane, can take very long. :Cuppa: :P So is there a way to establish some smartness when it comes to those changes? Note. This may also affect the heading changes, but I haven't tested those much. To test, use the numbers from the example if you like. Seems like the 360 spot is the problem. Use 359 and then 001. He will perform a full left turn. :o It works fine the other way around though.

Short and simple, can you folks drive your FO to set up 1630.0 on the ADF? I don't know how to tell him that it is not 163.0. Once you've manually set the four digit freqs, he has a hard time using other ones as he seems to read only three digits before the decimal. On ADF2, the same takes place, but I fail to see some actual changes in the sim regardless of the frequency. He confirms my wish for lets say 334.0 to be set on ADF2, but nothing happens.

I seem to experience a pattern (no pun :P ) when landing with MCE. It's the command for the taxi lights, regardless of the speech variation in use. While I can turn them on and off in every other phase of my flights, the command to turn them on when on final receives a confirmation by the FO (plus the red text showing it correctly), but he doesn't switch the taxi lights. As said, only happens when landing, so the flaps are out, later the gear. Anyone else saw this?
