August 12, 201015 yr I prefer to do my cross country trips in a modified version of my Lancair Legacy 2000 imported to FSX. With the bubble canopy and 300 Knot + airspeed it makes for a very sporty and very scenic trip.CheersBob C.
August 12, 201015 yr My favorite for checking out new scenery is the Dodosim Bell 206. Tom Risager NGX tutorial: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=162360 SIDs & STARs Worked Examples: LOWI-UUDD, KSEA-KLAX, EKCH-ENGM, YSCB-YPAD

January 1, 201214 yr I tend to stick with three. RealAir's SF260, Lionheart's Kodiak - and a surprise new one, for me at least - Aerosoft's OV-10 Bronco. John

January 2, 201214 yr Heh, nice revival, nice thread :)For me, the IRIS Pilatus PC9, nice view, covers ground quickly and nicely maneuverable when you want to double back for a second look Dean Stringer
January 2, 201214 yr BayTower's Van's RV7, no question.Amen! I see I posted the ultralight and Bonanza as my preferences back in 2010, but boy, things have changed... After posting that the Katana 4x has been my default plane for quite some time, but now it's the RV-7a (the RV-7 is the taildragger and the RV-7a is the tricycle: you get both when you buy it). Even though it doesn't offer as much options as the Katana 4x (maintaining and failures) it's a joy to fly! Right now it's my number 1 GA. Highly recommended. Great for sightseeing (for me every flight is a sightseeing flight, really...)As far as the ultralight is concerned : the Drifter is great indeed, although on my system it was rather heavy on performance.
January 2, 201214 yr For me it has definitely been the Tecnam. Since I got it I fly it almost all the time.I think I will check out the RV7. Thanks for the feedback, Ron and Jeroen :(
January 2, 201214 yr So, everyone is recommending the Bay Tower that isn't even officially finished? Still in beta right? You have to join their forums to even get it? Not sure I'd feel comfortable paying $39 for a plane that doesn't even have a real product page. - Aaron
