So how does the PMDG 737NGX compare to...

I for one am actually really not that bothered about having to wait for this girl to be released. The way I see it is that the more time PMDG have her, the better she's going to be. I have learned to control my anticipation and eagerness (which I solely thank to my own personal experience with the airsimmer extended team...). Even if PMDG say it will be released before Christmas, I will not gamble my hopes on that being true. Everyone knows things go wrong and bugs will be found, and with huge respect to PMDG, they seem the only developer that iron these out as much as possible before releasing their products, compared to pretty much all other FS aircraft developers. As I keep telling myself, it will be released when its ready. :(

I would rather have the general idea (like what is on the NGX page) than none at all... Everyone asking for constant release dates is going to drive them to possibly not put any information out about them anymore. Just need to take it for what it is worth at the time, and if the that time passes then obviously something happened that either a) they hit some snag b)they are trying to go above and beyond what they intended. From RSR's posts it seems to me that :( is most likely what has happened. I just keep checking back everyday to see if the fateful entering beta post has been put up. I see no need to ask when it will happen. Cause I know from my own experience I think for the 310R the internal date slipped like 5 or 6 times. Granted I am sure PMDG probably has broader windows that they aim for than we do (we were bumping it back in about a week or so time span). The NGX is obviously vastly more complicated though. Just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. I just hope they manage to get some holiday time in with their families and such with Thanksgiving, and Christmas around the corner. Going to be a busy end of year that is for sure.

Hey Mike. I hear everything you are saying. But estimates are meaningless. At any time PMDG could hit a glitch and release date is postponed by a month. So why bother giving a release time frame. I wouldn't. Too many things can happen. Besides if they said 2010 and it comes out in 2011, think of them as simulating REAL delivery dates. Proposed delivery dates are never on time! See how good they are at making it AS REAL AS IT GETS?Jack C

Like I said before, people get so precious when this line of questioning is asked. Also technically I'm not asking for a release date I just want to know if the comment on the NGX page is accurate. Also if PMDG historically don't set release dates why put 'coming in 2010'? So I disagree with your comments (with respect) I think it's a valid question and point to raise. If release dates are not something they do why the mid year announcement and then an end of year release date? If the anticipated release comments can't be relied upon why any suggestion of when it will be released in the first place? Why not just status instead eg. In progress, alpha testing, beta testing, production. 's FTX webpage just provides status and I think it works fine. Just my 2 cents and I'm sure many will get precious and upset/ frustrated about what I'm saying but the point of a forum is just that....a forum to discuss and present everyone's point of view.Mike Kendall

I'm not sure which annoys me more... "release date" posts or "FS9 v. FSX" posts... Cheers! Buddy Morgan

Hi guys,I got a spy in PMDG staff, and I got news about the release date: it will be out ... when it will be out :Silly:Come on, Buddy2 is right, and I suggest we create a special topic called "release date" where everyone will be able to post "when is it out ?" so maybe it will help everyone to wait, and keep this post clear and readable. LOL.gifNo matter if it comes after Christmas, the advantage of being an adult with money to spend is that Christmas can happen every day ... I hope that people in need do not read that topic, what would they think of us ...Cheers,Emmanuel Faudais

I think if it wasnt accurate or achievable one would assume they would remove it so if it still says 2010 what do you think that means?. Yep thats right . . 2010 releaseSit tight and relax.

Jeff I hope youre right and I'm wrong. Seems like they have their work cut out for them to meet this year. Okay for those of you who hate these discussions and want a forum clear of release date comments, what would you like to discuss? Haven't seen comments about the pogo stick for a while, the bunny was even longer ago, anyone want state how excited they are about the up coming release, how awesome and much respect they have for what PMDG. How about question on which liveries are included? Or which versions of the 737 are included. I think almost everything to discuss has been discussed to death and anything we havent got the answers to we won't until it's released. Sorry guys Aussie sarcasm getting the better of me.Mike Kendall

Guys the product is coming along nicely, PMDG appear to work hard at the moment... So just look forward for when it will be released, and not be disappointed because it hasn't already been releasedwink.gif

Cruel, and frankly just plain unneccesary to do. I havent been following the forum that closely these past few days due to travel and work and when I saw that post this morning, I genuinely got excited, only to get that, almost childish, post about it being released when it is ready.

I did't like the post and it's kind of humilaiting and expresses disrespect, the tilte could be different and content could be more mature, at the end of the day we are customers, I feel sorry now for wasting my time reading it.

It couldve been my fault partially. I may have touched a raw nerve when I asked if the 'coming 2010' line on the NGX page was still accurate. Didn't expect Robert would do something like that. Funnily enough I never asked for a release date and it was just a bit of constructive criticism to spark debate. Anything I've said about it was either with the most respect possible or as tonge in cheek. I even had one guy message me saying don't talk about release dates otherwise they wont release it this year. Like a company of this size would do it out of spite because of a couple comments made on a forum. I think we all need to take a deep breath and relax. I'm surprised such an innocent comment can get a CEO to act in such away ( tonge in cheek I hope, but a bit below the belt)Mike Kendall

This is the kind of thing you would expect to see from Mr. Kok over at Aerosoft, not PMDG. I guess they figure when it's released, everyone will be on it like a pack of hungry dogs, so no big deal.
