May 17, 201115 yr Hi,Go and get it, she is available via the forum.I don't intend to purchase both the PMDG and iFLY models. Since iFLY got here first I give them the first shot at my wallet. Can anyone who is familiar with the NG tell me what systems are not modeled? What do you like and what don't you like about the iFLY NG?Thanks for any help.

Can anyone who is familiar with the NG tell me what systems are not modeled? What do you like and what don't you like about the iFLY NG?I am in the same position, I don't fly the heavies enough to justify getting both. I am glad that the iFly has come out first, with the 30 day Flight1 money back guarantee I will be trying theirs and if I like it enough PMDG won't get a look in...G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron

May 17, 201115 yr Thanks for all the HUs guys, and the feedbacks.Just bought it.That was an incredibly fast download, paying process and installing to my FSX folder process.Wow,is all I can say.Next up is the FS2Crew package. This Forum just keeps on getting better and better. According to my usual Flight Sim products store where I make my purchases,Flightstore,it is not due for release until the 27th. Now I cannot wait even at 2am to go for a short spin.Let's all hope this long-waited stocking-filler lives up to the high hopes, and eager anticipations awaiting its release,i.e.bugs,FPS,etc.Thanks once again,Al,as a fellow Brit, for your personal feedback adn input into this product Rick Almeida
May 17, 201115 yr Moderator Couple questions for those who have it.So far we know that the HGS is only on the BBJ and its not collinated at this time, but could be in the future.-I am still wondering if it has the new style landing lights AKA ie Lotus L-39 sytle lights? I saw a night screen shot and it didn't have those for the Nav lights, but the landing lights were off so I couldn't tell.-Does it have a layout menu or something equivalent that has the layout options for some of the different airliners or a guide saying which airlines use which options?-Does it have any type of maintainence mode or track airframe/engine hours?-How is the VC night lighting? Is everything adjustable as it should be, or is it more of a basic lighting scheme like the LDS767 has?-VC rain drops? I saw a few videos but couldn't tell if it had them or not. May 17, 201115 yr Al,Check your email! Cheers,Will do.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Re: using it with Topcat: I just used that to plan a flight for the FSX iFly NG; it seemed to be okay, the fuel and cargo load updated in FSX because Topcat didn't complain when I pointed it at the FSX iFly cfg file, so i know it does 'see' the FSX version. Not sure if everything worked 100 percent on the loadsheet, but enough of it did to make it useful. Even if it had not, since you can (theoretically at least) use Topcat as a standalone planner and copy the data manually, it will do the job.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I saw a night screen shot and it didn't have those for the Nav lights, but the landing lights were off so I couldn't tell.Sort of, but not when it comes to actually light up scenery and stuff. See the VC shots too.-Does it have a layout menu or something equivalent that has the layout options for some of the different airliners or a guide saying which airlines use which options?Yes, quite some options there and also configurable for every livery it seems.-Does it have any type of maintainence mode or track airframe/engine hours? Not as far as I saw from the first reading and flights.-How is the VC night lighting? Is everything adjustable as it should be, or is it more of a basic lighting scheme like the LDS767 has?Currently only on/off, but quite atmospheric in my eyes. (please note the above post that they are working on some improved or other lighting).Captain's view, Overhead and some overview with the landing light illumination. Don't mind the instrument settings.-VC rain drops? I saw a few videos but couldn't tell if it had them or not.Sadly not.I have to add that the sounds are pretty good. The whole rumble, the warning tones, some vibrancy. One of the very few addons without "wow" sounds (too loud engines in the cockpit), but very believable ones. And she's a real charm on hand flying, but this may belong more to the 737 itself then since the Ariane 737 was also nice in this aspect. And I'm still very happy with the fps, doing some touch&go around Aerosoft's EHAM with NL2000 right now.
May 17, 201115 yr It's funny, because back when I had money, I would get everything that came out (back in FS9 days), now, unfortunately, I will have to wait for PMDG to release theirs, and see what people say is the best, though, I have no doubt PMDG will cost a lot more. May 17, 201115 yr And I'm still very happy with the fps, doing some touch&go around Aerosoft's EHAM with NL2000 right now. What are your fps like around aerosoft's eham ? That airport is a resource hog.
May 17, 201115 yr That enough to make me come to a full stop! What are your settings like? I don't use any AI so was wondering if I would get the same result, I only fly VC so I want good fps.No AI, but I have pretty high FSX settings: water one below highest, all other scenery on highest, scenery+AG highest, LOD 7.5, texture 4096, clouds 90... and 2x SGSS added in NI, along the 8xS.In general it's very good looking and detailed aircraft, and my personal opinion is that the performance for that kind of quality is on par. You simply can't expect super fast fps with super detailed systems and graphics that blow your mind. That is what, iFly, in my opinion, is doing - just take a look at knobs in virtual cockpit up close...Also bugs me a bit a default sitting position when in flight in VC - way to close to the panel. And I'm not running Wide in FSX.cfg, but running default 60% zoom out. And still, I can hardly see outside and a panel. Moving a bit back, just to where I think my head position should be, resolves the problem. So, a quick Ctrl+Enter and voila...Wingviews could have been better too :(
