For those that have the FS9 version, how do they compare? Is one better than the other?

I would say without a seconds thought that the iFly 737 is the best aircraft you can get in FS9. Only the LDS 767 comes close and maybe the maddog from LH

I don't know why people are complaining about PMDG. They seem very helpful, informative and friendly in their forum and support.
I only complain about the latest thread statement. I think it's only rude (and we all know to what it is pertaining).
Me too, even if it cost 200 quid, I'd still buy it. You will get what you pay for with PMDG.Al
The nail couldn't have been hit on the head better than that comment right there.
The J41 a "flop"? Hardly. It's one of the best airliners made for FSX despite that bug. And I believe it just won another award from SimFlight for best airliner of 2010. So your opinion is a minority one.
Possibly. But I know how many people complain about it's bad VC (no-2D) performance, and I do read forums quite a bit... I rarely hear someone flying it too. Screenshots? Don't remember seeing many if any...So those are my conclusions. And my personal. And btw. since this is iFly topic: first aircraft that crashed my sim with 4Gb+ usage with LOD 7.5:

I wholeheartedly agree. I will still buy that 737 of theirs, but they could be a lot more classy and much, much more humble. See, that's what I really like about the iFly support team: they always seem pleasant and helpful, and they don't seem to feel the need to take stabs at competitors, like, indeed that thread by Vin about the 737NG cockpit. I'm sorry, but that was petty. It seemed to me like an outcry for attention... For all that's holy, PMDG doesn't need that. The entire world is already following them closely.By now I have done a test flight around NYC and found the FPS to be on par with other aircraft I tried in that dense scenery. I also noticed the big FPS drop when the mouse pointer is on screen. Overall, it seems like a nice aircraft, but I'll do some flights sometime else.

Spot on! They don't need to behave like that - we all know how good their products are. I think that they have done a little reputation damage in the eyes of some simmers with the way they are responding to the iFly release. iFly seems really to have ruffled their feathers.

I can't wait to see all the comments that will be flowinghere when the PMDG 737 NGX gets released. Avsim still has not made any mention of IFly737 FSX even being released. I bought the IFly 737 FSX and so far have not had any problems. JeffG

Welcome to the world of marketing. We have two companies that are competing for a small customer base. You hav the old guard, competiting with a young upstart. Competition is good for customers, but business is not always friendly. The longer you hold/delay a product the more time you give an competitor to chip away at what was a solid user base. That was a smart move to try and ween off the hype of a true next gen 737 getting released. There will be some that hold out till release, some will get both, some will stick with what's available now. The problem is the longer the delay, the more people will get comfortable and might not think adding another 737 to their hangar is worth it.

I wouldn't read too much in AVSIM not reporting the release on the News page. They get there posts from the developers/publishers directly. In this case it will be Flight 1. Since it is not available yet on Flight 1, they probably haven't issued a press release yet for it.

Thanks

HelloAll PMDG had to do was say "Well done i-FLY on a great first release, this will push us on even further"Class always shows in the end and in this instance it did not for PMDG.

I think from a number of comments in this thread saying otherwise, it is apparent that it was not a smart move at all. By definition, comments from PMDG's staff in the PMDG forum will to a large extent be preaching to the converted, as they will be in any company forum, since anyone reading them has to at least be showing curiosity about that company's forthcoming products if they are there in the first place. So you'd have to think that the really smart move would be not to mention your competitor at all, and certainly not to post a thread with a title which was, at best, less than gracious, since it can do nothing other than make one appear threatened by such competition if it looks like one is reacting to it.By contrast, the iFly forum has had any attempts to do something similar by forum members roundly admonished, and it has never been indulged in by the staff, gentlemanly conduct being encouraged instead. You can see that has gone a long way toward making iFly appear likable. Now that was a smart move.Al

Maybe the simple answer is that you guys are way too sensitive and need to quit chugging the Haterade. The people in an uproar over the PMDG thread in question have been constantly complaining about PMDG these past few weeks; it seems like they'll pick up any non-issue and blow it out of proportion as a way to express their impatience with PMDG. The hilarious thing is that at the same time they almost promise to buy the NGX! That's almost a compliment to PMDG: These people slag on them in the forums and then turn around, drop their principled stance, and buy the product anyway! I think that shows just how tempting PMDG's offering is.

HelloIt is not folk being "too sensitive", it is about how PMDG are being perceived by many on these forums. When you are Top Dog which PMDG undoubtedly are based on past releases,it really works in your favour if you are gracious enough to say "well done" .Putting the products to one side for now, a quick read through their respective forums reveals everything the perspective buyer needs to know about the attitudes of these competing developers.I really hope the PMDG surpasses the i-Fly and that spurs i-Fly to raise the bar further.Hopefully Level-D will get a move on and join the party. That way we all win.

What comment is it that everyone is up in arms about?I have looked at their forum through out the day and haven't seen anything that looked like they were taking a shot at any developers. Beside that, they are always careful not to let anyone on their forum bash any other 3PD's, so I doubt they would do the same.
