The LM P3D forums are already available for exactly that purpose. Is there something stopping you?

AVSIM is a great forum and has been for many years. All of the arguments and experiences, complaints and rants do serve to provoke thought and in some cases the "silly" questions lead to some nice tools. One great example is the tweaking tool that is widely used. Now that that is avail. then it is amazing how few questions come up any more. Simple...send in your .CFG and get one back that works pretty good. So in some case the "silly" questions lead to great tools. There is also a place for questions ask and question answered type formats. No flaming or opinions. I would like to see that type of format added here at AVSIM, not as a replacement but in addition. Simple rules...you can post questions and you can post answers. Any discussion or opinion type questions move to the general forum buy the MOD's. Rules like any question will include info on your equipment and operating system. Clean, to the point and helpful to all.

I'm starting to think this forum should be closed, it's just rampant, rampant, rampant speculation that has degenerated into legal threats, character assasination, rumor-mongering, and several people staying up past their bedtime.

I must have missed something. With this P3D stuff, granted its very nice to have good scenery and DX11, etc... but what about the main FSX 3rd party dev's like FSDT, PMDG, Fly-Tampa and the like. Having a good base texture pack is great but if you cant have any third party airports (save for the GA fields Orbx have) or PMDG type aircraft, why even use it? Now once all those type of dev's come aboard and we can use their stuff...then thats a different story.

HelloYou can use your FSX addons in P3D now.So far it is really a bug fixed FSX with some features added by Lockheed.The PMDG 737 works according to someone in the PMDG forum, most scenery only requires pointing P3D at your existing Scenery library.

So what you are saying is once P3D is installed, there is a way to point that program to my existing FSX scenery folders and it will use them in the sim? Is this done via config file or something? FSDT, FT, Imaginesim and Aerosoft's stuff all work in P3D right now? Would like to see confirmation that the NGX works in P3D. How about a weather program? Does P3D use real world weather now or can one use ASE?

I'm also interested in the ATC, does it use the one made for FSX?

I have opinions about frankla's ban, but I'll keep them to myself. P3D - How efficient is the code to date? Say I get 30 fps in NYC in FSX, can I now get 60? Or is it more like 35? Does P3D work with Vatim/SB4/FSInn? That would be required for me to even consider trying P3D.

Can anyone comment on what the bug fixes are exactly? When I read 'bug fixes', I read smooth performance without tweaking on existing hardware

Well, well, well, hasn't this been an exciting day. The whole simmy world seems to have been turned on its head by this.....out-of-the-blue, extraordinary development, most didn't even know existed. Just got home from work, after spending all day training people on QXP out near the airport (EGCC), so it was good fun watching the airliners coming in at low level on short finals, but now I'm installing Prepar3d so I can see what all the fuss is about. Al
