I am going to add my support for frankla, who should not have been suspended for any amount of time, for he was the only one who was not blinded by DW (Developer Worship) and had the courage to question some statements whether they were facts or speculation. This whole thing started because a developer made some statements that seemed to read as facts - and now is saying that it was just logical thinking which the rest of us should have been able to see. When we say something, it is speculation, but when a developer says it, it is common sense. How many of you read that interview and thought that now we know the truth about Flight? In fact, so much credence was given to his words that some of you have rushed out and bought into the Prepar3D alternative. I think you are very premature in thinking that this will be our solution, but that's for another thread. The bottom line is that critical thinking and common sense is lacking in this thread, but frankla is not guilty of any of that. As for the forum moderation, I find it heavy-handed and one-sided and clearly not based on a proper analysis of the facts.

With the amount of ridiculous questions that is going to emerge I'm sure LM would prefer their forums to be garbage free, unless they're ready to answer massive amount of repetitive questions I'm ok to sign up for their forums.

This thread is a perfect example of why the Forum should be here. If you take the time to have a look at the forums over at LM and read their rules carefully, it will be very clear to you. It is not a place for endless arguments and flaming. They do not care what you think of MS or wheather you agree with David's call to give this guy a rest. LM had been kind enough to invite us to join there little adventure and that is great. I can promise you that we had all better leave our attitudes at the door because LM will push back in ways that might come as a shock to many of the folks that visit this site.

.......Anyway........ (wow!)....... getting back to the topic. I have been using P3D for a few months and most aircraft add-ons I have tested work fine. The ones that don't are those that alias sounds or gauges from aircraft that don't ship with P3D. This includes the Boeing, F-18 and DC3. I guess these are competitors to Lockheed (so fair enough I guess) ? Most scenery also works and I have FSX and P3D installed on the same machine with no problem. I can add my FSX scenery to P3D by simply going to the scenery library and adding the directory. This will not work with Orbx scenery because they do some techimagical things to make the amazing scenery they do, so go and buy their P3D specific stuff when it is released! Lockheed have fixed bugs and there is a list of features on their website. I have said this before and will say it again, this is a supported application, with the release very soon of a new update v1.2. The actual, real developers are in the forums answering questions and trying to be helpful. The SDK is FREE and updated. Now when was the last time you had any of those things happen with Microsoft......? ....... like ever? Lockheed may not be perfect, people will no doubt b*tch and moan, but for f*** sakes people! I have heard all sorts of nay-sayers moaning about the $500 price, then ignoring the developer network option for a couple of beers a month. I have even heard of (sane?) people having spent $20k + on a simulator setup, but then moan about spending a few bucks to replace their $18 bargain bin unsupported 5 year old software that is running it all....... I am happy with P3D and certainly hope that the community gives it a shot. Hey, you can cancel the $9.95 subscription after the first month anyway.......

The LM P3D forums are already available for exactly that purpose. Is there something stopping you?

I must have missed something. With this P3D stuff, granted its very nice to have good scenery and DX11, etc... but what about the main FSX 3rd party dev's like FSDT, PMDG, Fly-Tampa and the like. Having a good base texture pack is great but if you cant have any third party airports (save for the GA fields Orbx have) or PMDG type aircraft, why even use it? Now once all those type of dev's come aboard and we can use their stuff...then thats a different story.
