Carenado C90 released

Featured Replies

Ok, quick question.

For those that have both, would you pick the RA Turbine Duke or this King Air?

Which one is better on FPS?

She is fantastic!

We need a flight tutorial I think, but I will wait for subforums at carenado for that request

Must say the Avidyne display detail (on the screenshots) looks really nice. With the flight plan coming from the RXP 1.6 gauges, this could be a winner.

So while our 'integrate RXP!' outcry may seem like upset customers, I think Carenado should read the attention this plane receives as a big applause for bringing a current FSX C90 to the customers. Therefore, praises for their work.

Sure CoolIP, I too love that they've done this plane, and done it so beautifully. Too bad that the avionics thing stops me and a few others from rewarding them with a purchase. Why on earth RXP integration was dropped/skipped as they've already made it work with their other recent planes is beyond me.

Well, at least it works as a popup, so the way to integrate a 3D option is there for e.g. a service pack. That's how I read it, with interest and hope. But right you are, could have been there right form the start. Carenado 400 GPS to RXP 430 option. Leaves the nice Avidyne intact and opens some more customer ways, so to speak.

It is well worth the purchase. RXP integration is something that i am sure will come in an SP, or through good folks like Bert. It is worth it in every other way..and yes, as Bert mentioned, the RXP can be used as a popup and still do its duty.

Popups are alright... But integration is better... and it would be simple for this plane - it's not like they've got to move things around to fit the 430W...

I'll consider the purchase anyway with the high praise...

The RXP stuff is so popular, although I have no idea how many actually own it and buy new planes when they arrive, but one day it may become a standard I hope.

IDK either.... it appeals mostly to the online crowd as far as I can tell. If I was a regular fly flightsim offline kinda dude I'd be all over this.

Some of the waypoints in the default FSX GPS still exist RW today - but many things have changed. For instance, in Duluth approach airspace just since the five years I worked for the FAA we've had numerous approach plate changes and completely new approaches and deleting of old approaches. It's tough to stay current in the FSX world without Navigraph or RXP....

I see they didn't get the PT-6 modeling correct,There is no lag between power lever, and torque needle movement,in governing range.

Ok... I purchased it and played for a while. I'm willing to post some further info... but only if everyone understands I no longer make addons for FS... I simply wanted to keep my 'gold tag'.

The whole Reality XP GPS thing appeals to those who think that without it or a fully functional FMC you simply cannot navigate anywhere...

Man up, file a flight plan using equipment suffix A and do it the old fashion way!

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Three legs in in this plane, and I have to tell you, it's a diamond! ....... absolutely Carenado are pushing the GA bar now.... It is brilliant to see them pushing themselves out of their box, with things like the audio depiction in this add-on. May we one day see a Carenado Airliner ?

I am sure the RXP integration will come later in a SP.

In response to the question, I am seeing the HD version being a fair bit heavier on PC resources than the 'lite' version. Maybe 20-25% ?

I would certainly say that the HD version is heavier than the HD C208, and possibly Carenado's heaviest frame hitting aircraft so far. But it's still all relative; it's not as heavy as the NGX and that aircraft is completely playable.

The C90 is only really 'heavy on frames' in terms of Carenado aircraft. And when you see and hear it, you can see why.

David.
