Worst support forum policy I have ever seen.

I am the moderator of proatcx and posts were removed because they were hijacking a support thread which is not allowed in the forum.

 

I had stated that as the reason why posts were removed and yet people kept on hijacking threads...so more posts were removed.

 

Posts are also removed when members disrespect the moderators, the developer, other members or the product. I have veing asked many times why i was letting flamers get away with it in the forum.

 

and for people who keep on complaining about the product...... how about asking a support question and you may find the product actually works well for you.

 

If you do not ask for support...support cannot help you.

Several users gave an answer, me included. And we just old him facts and our opinion in a not rude way.

 

Everything negative was deleted, but not enough, I'm banned there now without any further comment 

 

That is my first ban in my flightsimulation history.

That was completely not true as the question was from a potential customer who was interested in purchasing PRO ATC X.

And we all gave the answers according to our opinions.

 

Unfortunately you have now edited even the original question and many other comments to this question in the "support" forum.

 

 

 

I don't care if you ban me or not from that kiddie-forum, but if I can warn some fellow simmers about such a bad piece of software and support, then I'll do that. Just my opinion. Your's is different, I know.

My posts were removed even when they started a new thread, when they were written in an appropriate manner, or when they were directly related to the topic of the forum. You and Dom are the moderators for Pro-ATC and you have every right to do what you want on that forum. However, we as paying customers of a product that does not work to our satisfaction have the right to voice our concerns. If that's not possible on Pointsoftware's forum, then we have to post it elsewhere.

I merely asked in passing as to whether a member you banned had a different handle here at AVSIM to that used on PATC forum and you arbitrarily deleted my post which I find extremely dictatorial.

 

I also object to to you trying to moderate your forum by using another forum, when you know darn well it is going to stir up bad feelings over here. Something you seem to accuse everyone else of doing over there.

Interesting to read what Pete Dowson is saying about AI control. It is such a shame that ATC, such a major part of flight is still not catered for to everybody's satisfaction. I am seriously thinking of going back to VOX after trying the demo....its not perfect but for an 'immersive' experience its hard to beat.

I too have contributed to the ProAtc forum and I have the program. I took a chance and purchased it in the hope that the promises about AI interaction and voice control would be fulfilled. The now illusive 'alpha177' made a very strong assurance that voice control was ready for imminent release a year or more ago and since then enquiries about it have been ignored or deleted. I have contacted the developer Mourad three times, once by email when he replied saying that the update/recode was due for release in two weeks, this was at the beginning of January 2014. I have since emailed him again and also sent him a PM, both of these have been ignored. I too have had posts deleted when I was only being honest and not rude in any way to the developer, moderator or other members. The moderator has a rather 'big brother' approach..... he seems to take things personally and takes criticism of the state of the software as aimed at him. The developer has taken no part in the forum for months and will not offer any information on the state of the programs rewrite or say what is being worked on apart from a couple of very vague statements. 

All in all for 50 Euros its a bit of a......

The program has 'forgotten' me, stopped communicating and gone into 'loops' and failed to issue landing clearance so many times now that I am tired of using it (and I have tried turning off background chatter!!!)

Fears were also raised a while back when it was revealed that the same developer had produced an FS addon that failed drastically a few years ago.

This is my honest experience of ProAtc.

I bought Proatcx last year. Although, I have had a bug free experience, I still think it is not complete. I was expecting the update to come, but not any more. The way things are going on in the forums is worrying. Murad's(the developer) lack of communication is unacceptable. I advise against buying it until the update if there was one. RJORD's dedication and contribution is admirable, and I think he is sincere in his belief that the update is coming, but I don't think there is one anymore. 

The Patch was due in January, don't hold your breath waiting for this one

 

That is not entirely true. The developer informed on May 10th 2013, that the next update will be release in a weeks time. 10 months have passed since. As mentioned, the latest "update due in a weeks time" was missed in January this year.

 

FWIW I used to like visiting the Pro ATC forums. Also loved to help other users in getting the most out of the product. I was happy to notice, that a few of my topics were pinned as helpful.

 

Let's just say, that things are no longer as they used to be. After the developer disappeared from the forum, things went downhill quickly. The fact is that there isn't a features/bug fixes list or even a single screenshot of the future version doesn't exactly boost confidence or patience. All remains is a promise, that the long waited update will contain (and I quote a development team member): "something that has never been done before in flight sim".

 

Do I still use Pro ATC?

 

Yes, but only when I might wake up my family by talking to Vox Atc.

 

Do I still believe that an update will be released?

 

Maybe one day. The problem is that the developer hasn't really been open to customer suggestions. My fear is that the planned new features do not enhance the core ATC features. Maybe the co-pilot feature gets a facelift?

as someone with a speech impairment, I do need ATC but cannot fly with vatsim and do not want the default FSX ATC either, I need button control.

Try Captain Sim official forums.

Very good questions. Many have wondered about similar things.

 

The strange thing is that both the developer and the tester vanished from the forum at the same time. The tester went to become active on other FSX forums (so he is live and well), but the developer has all but disappeared.

I agree, the forum monitors on ProATC seem to stifle any negative comments, no matter how carefully they have been crafted to be reasonable and straight forward.

 

The developer doesn't appear to respond to requests as many have stated.

 

I own a copy but have not used this software in a long time as I'm waiting for the new version to appear..

 

This is truly unfortunate!

I shouldn't worry Bill the father and son team at bbs so the same on their facebook page, anything slightly negative they delete posts etc

 

Saying that I had to reinstall proatc the other day and had to email the developer for a new download link, he emailed me back within 10 mins.  So he's still around
