If one is banned how do they join in discussions on 3rd party forums such as PMDG? Behaviour on one forum section shouldn't equate to global blockage of all forums

A former moderator is no longer available for assistance on AVSIM. If anyone needs guidance from him in the future I am sure everyone can figure out how to contact him.

As for Word Not Allowed he was abrupt with people at times but also helpful at other times.

 

In reading the original statement I view it as more of AVSIM defending itself versus any misrepresentations. How many times in other posts and this thread do we see mods called power hungry and egotistical despite having no knowledge of said mods? Let's stop flipping tables and put yourselves in avsim's shoes.

 

Even if the site isn't curing cancer it is a source for our hobby- our entertainment... For those of us who love simming the site is important in our lives. If it comes down to it I'd rather the preservation of AVSIM over any single member.

 

Kostas work is valuable (he isn't dead for goodness sakes) but we should all respect the fact that no person, no entity wants to be involved in any litigation if it can possibly help it.

 

Now: I'm starting a bring back Summer petition! Whose in!?

PMDG use the forum to comunicate with its customers of there products so how does that sit with banning some1 who is a customer?

Don't have any personal experience with Word Not Allowed, but I do know how 'big' he was around here, and for a very long time.

 

Based on reading that explanation, plus my own long membership/experience of this place and how it's run - I trust the decision, especially since it was so long in coming.

 

I've no issue whatsoever with this not being a 'democracy' - it's private property made available for public use of reasonable people - it's not hard, never has been.

Maybe we should make fun of you top when you're banned. It's not a very nice to talk about someone behind their back; if this thread is just to inform then it should just be locked. Everyone has their own opinion, this thread just polarizes and politicizes the situation even more.

 

As for summer1 being banned, maybe I didn't see the complete picture but didn't the other party call her a prepubescent boy?

For all of you who are saying this is a sad loss to the fs community etc etc, feel free to go start your own fs forums. You can invite Word Not Allowed as a mod and see what happens. Also better get ready to fundraise so you can fight those LM lawyers.
