got it, installed it, looks great. Two questions so far :

 

1. I can't get the plane in the startup state mentioned in the tutorial, also the saved situation 'CYZD-CYUL sample flight' does not exist. Should I load the Cessna first, turn everything off and then load the Dash-8. Or what is recommended ?

2. I can't get my joystick (Saitek Aviator) recognízed in the Control Panel. Just the numbers 32768 (elevator) and 0 (power lever position) are flashing, but don't change at all. Plane is active in FSX, Joystick active in W7 and recognized and working in FSX. What am I doing wrong ?

When we said you have to stay on top of her we meant it. After takeoff and into any phase of flight slight adjustments to rudder trim are necessary (as in the real aicraft) to maintain straight and level flight.

The OP was referring to with the autopilot ON.

 

It would seem strange that a modern autopilot, in a modern aircraft, would be incapable of keeping the aircraft properly in trim.

 

If this is correct, can you tell us why the Dash autopilot is deficient in this way?

 

I haven't purchased yet, but this seems like a feature that would be a pain.

According the the Majestic Facebook page, FS Pilot Shop and Simmarket are also distributers.  It looks like JustFlight got the product up first AND they have confirmed that upgrades to later versions will only cost the price difference between the two (others may add an additional upgrade fee).  As a result, many jumped straight on their bandwagon...I sure have as they have a good set of policies.

Is there a quick way to change the default VC view to the captain's seat and not the FO's seat?

 

I'm really REALLY enjoying this bird, congratulations on the release, it shows that you've put a LOT of work into it! The hand flying is absolutely magical!

This beauty is one heck of a slippery airplane, it's amazing to see how you really do have to stay on top of it if you're trying to fly the approach manually, rudder trim is needed, and you sure as heck need to control your airspeed, the first approach I tried left me 1,000' over the marker, obviously forcing me to go around. The next two weren't nearly as bad, but speed control is the name of the game, it seems!

The autopilot in most aircraft never ever touches the aileron or rudder trim. This includes Boeings and Airbuses, and they only touch the pitch trim (aka the Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer)

 

A turboprop is different from a jet as props generate a large asymmetric blade effect (or P-factor) and slipstream, so they tend to get "out of shape" easily and require a bit more rudder trim than jets, which can encounter a different problem called "Thermal Rudder Drift" during cruise. (There's a recent thread on pprune talking about it)

A little annoyed. First I was charged twice for my order and now I have been waiting almost 3 hours and still no activation! its funny how to taking your money part of the transaction is not delayed!

All I can say is "wow". Weather radar that looks like it really works, a sound set that sounds authentic, a fairly complex set of systems, and pretty nice textures. I did my usual "manuals be damned" flight found it to be a really interesting airplane to fly. I've never had much interest in these kinds of planes before in FSX but I can see myself flying this one for a long time just because its not another Boeing.

 

This will keep me busy until the T7 is released. Maybe PMDG will release sooner to steal some of Majestic's thunder  :rolleyes:

After a few hours of playing around with the bird I have to say this is now in my #1 position for add-on quality. This aircraft gives a very convincing feeling of actually flying through air. I have never felt this before in FSX. The PMDG NGX is nearly there but thus far surpasses it.  

 

Systems wise it is very deep and will require lot's of reading to get to know the what, how and why's. And the thought that there is more to come in the Pro just blows' my mind.

 

The sounds are up there with the best. One good way to test sound immersion, as well as FDE accuracy is during touchdown. Can you feel the landing through the sounds and FDE? In this bird you can, and it's better than the NGX which again was my previous standard. 

 

So 10/10 to Majestic for releasing a complete and from what I can see, bug free product.!  I truly feel sorry for those having download and activation issues. I bought it about 3 hours ago and it downloaded quickly and installed on second attempt. Hopefully you can get sorted and start enjoying this beauty.
