I'm surprised at how many folks want that

Me too. Does anyone know you can program the window to pop up when ATC contacts you and then simply just hit the ` key (by default) to close?

I've used it "some" - but not  the PDK.  There are definitely some things in the SDK that don't work as advertised and cumbersome to use.  Discovery is a rather lengthy process of trial and error and any clues I pick up from others along the way.

I thought the same thing about it. A lot of the time I found the documentation to not very helpful. I felt the same about the FSX SDK. The example projects help shed some light on things, but a lot still seems to be hidden behind trial and error like you mentioned.

That's very helpful, thanks.

It works this way by default. I always keep it hidden until I need to contact ATC and the window will pop up if they need to contact me.

Hope this helps!

I finally ordered some "new upgrades" for my new build  - I hoping 2.5 is released today?  any bets.

we should have a virtual pool or something about this (just for kicks).

Rob,

Did you get any chance to test Nvidias 374.52 driver against P3Dv2,5 Final Beta.....- Your verdict?

No, he'll provide a transparent ATC gauge.

A couple of pretty simple items I think a lot of folks would like to have:

1.  An ATC pop up that one can right click on and set font size & can set transparency w/ a slider, and even background and font colors.  I'll longed for something more elegant & discreet looking than the in-your-face industrial one that is present in current P3D.

2.  A mod to the kneeboard to add a page one can take notes in, and paste into.  There was one for FS9 if I recall and it was handy to have, FS Kneeboard I think was its name.

64-bit spells a whole new reason to believe development time will be worth it.

For those interested, we have devised a way to keep that opaque overwhelming ATC window confined to a very small rectangle. When you need to see the content, you just click it.

A Demo is available here:

http://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html

Because we didn't want to enable that behaviour by default, you need to go to \Prepar3D V2\ installation folder, and open fsInsider.ini.

Look at the [Prepar3D] section and change "ReduceATCflicker=0" to "ReduceATCflicker=1" and save the config file.

You don't have to buy the software in order to take advantage of that feature. You do need to keep the Demo installed though, otherwise fsInsider.dll (which provides the feature) would undload itself from the sim.

Sorry Gerald, the link seems to be dead, at least for me. Otherwise certainly an interesting approach.

Pretty sure history will be wrong.

I have not, looks like that version's focus is some product called "Evolve" ... no idea what that is -- something to do with Goats?  No mention of Prepar3D in the release notes here: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/347.52/347.52-win8-win7-winvista-desktop-release-notes.pdf ... a lot of other games got SLI profiles, but not Prepar3D.

Cheers, Rob.

I'm totally fine with that!!  B)

Yea, no SLI support - unfortunately I have to say as usual.... :(

I have a request for support on that in the GFE Forum...:

Anyhow, at least the broken lights (PAPI) seem to be fixed according to reports here on AVSIM......
