2.5 is Out

Hi Bill,

I don't understand how is this not an appropriate question as we are talking about a release of P3D 2.5.  I am asking fellow computer game players and that is in a living room and enjoying a hobby which one they use so that I can buy the same...Just this simple. No marketing just a genuine question....just like for FSX (standard and professional editions).

Thanks,

Regis

Does no one pay attention to the large pinned topics??

Regis if you read the pinned (and locked) topic re EULA you will understand Bill's response.

Edit:  Ooops!  Ed  beat me to it.

i think the blinding sun is there on purpose. I have it to and i have to say i like it.

Did you also have it in 2.4? The problem with it is that it appears simply by pointing your view towards the sun, even if there's aircraft structure between your eye and the sun... The same happened in FSX DX10, but fortunately Steve's Fixer provides an option to disable it...

Sorry to say but Bill is right. You dont want to open Pandoras box. I suggest, and i mean it in the most friendly way, go and read the EULA and finally decide for yourself what suits you the best and keep it for you. That is all i have to say and that should be all you need to know.

In fairness to Regis, he may not be an English-as-a-first-language speaker, and may not have recognized the term "EULA."

And with that, I'm out, since I don't want to violate the policy myself.

No it wasnt in v2.4. I didnt go throught the prepar3d.cfg in depth so i cant tell if this can be disabled. May be HDR off could help or it is a function within the sun effect.

All my purchases are Extreme Airports and just been to my account at UK2000 and all I see are Heathrow Xtreme v3 and Prestwick Xtreme which have the optional Prepar3D installers. Where did you get yours from?

Rick,

I used the Estonia migration tool to move them across but you can just as easily move them by hand if you have them in FSX, just remember as well as the UK2000 folder there are also some effect files in the effects folder.

Then add them to the scenery.cfg remembering to also add the UK2000 Common library below them.

It is great that Gary does not restrict folks from installing their UK2000 stuff into P3D, he even offers some compatability advice here:

Cool and Understood....Let us all move on. I will read the EULA pinned topic.

Thanks guys

Wonder if Austin is doing consulting work for Lockheed?

Errm, No.

In X-Plane the Update process really works. You start X-Plane, the program detects a new version, starts its installer, updates itself qand then starts the simulator. And in most casers this simply works,

For distributors the situation can be different. After 10.30 delivered a new GPS System it became very hard to sell planes with the old GPS, so many developers updated their planes. But there is no need to do this.

While I even load X-Plane Beta-Tests at once, I will probably wait a few days till I Update P3D 2.4

Only the latest releases have dedicated P3D installers, but you can use the FSX versions of the others in P3D. I use the Estonia Migration Tool to install FSX addons into P3D, but you can just as easily specify an installation folder of your choice, and then add the airport in the Scenery Menu.

Yes, I have this also as described. HDR off it goes away but I want HDR on so am looking for a solution.

I have a GTX970 and using the newest drivers 347.52. Don't know if it's these drivers or not. Would anyone using other driver versions let us know if this is present or not for you? That could help shed some light on the subject (pun intended)!

This is the only issue I have with this new V2.5.

Thanks for that, Christopher. Will try that.

Unfortunately, it's not driver-specific. I got this with 337.88, then updated to 347.52 (clean install) and got the same... Makes HDR pretty much unusable until a solution is found.
