Anyone know the city or town or location in the night light video?

Probably some town in Washington state, I guess.

Aspen (from the name of the downloaded video).

Since you know this info, the one with the water and what I am guessing is a beach? And is that a thing that holds water back made usually of concrete me thinks ( took out the word for cursing, too funny ) on the right or a water fall? Of course I guess if you know the location you know this info too 🙂

If Microsoft is listening, can we please see Aspen in the winter. I would love to see a snow covered Aspen.

Hopefully the MSFS team will be able to utilize shader tech to depict snow accumulation.

I do wonder about this image, it could seem that behind the scenes Orbx has to be involved here.  They are the biggest player, got 100+ team (if I recall correctly, about them getting new office and new team members) - they just are have to super quiet with NDAs and all.  I know MS had to be in touch with Orbx and probably PMDG & A2A lol.  They are browsing these forums also.

If Memory recall is correct - Wasn't Orbx CEO friends with some of the original FSX designers....

Whatever happens - competition is good.  I bet LM is cooking something behind the scenes.  They had to know MS was doing something like this especially with their special contract to make Prepar3d from FSX/ESP code.

There is always a deal behind the scenes happening - we just don't get to directly see it.

I am excited about this new Sim!!!!

That DA62 looks mightly familar to me - I wonder if they got Vertx's own bird in there and Sean has been super quite about it lately.

You all can tell I am excited

That's the big question.  Winter scenes are a big Unknown.   Shader snow is a Big Unknown.   Even if there are plans for Winter, they probably will not post any pics/videos anytime soon.

With respect, don't tell me to chill.

We all have our personal thresholds for what's acceptable in a flight sim. I don't have stutters in the one I'm flying now, and I'm not going to switch, or recommend to anyone else, a flight sim that stutters.

I have never seen a flight sim running at that level of image quality either without stutters, and that's the point.

Maybe it will sell to those who can tolerate it, but it's not going to sell to those who won't tolerate it. Zero stutters and no image pop-in should be a baseline for a modern sim released in the year 2019-2020 because other sims are doing it.

Hold the phone!  Just a couple of questions here, if I might. (See highlighted red text)
1.  What sim...on what planet?
2.  What did I miss in my 30 years of simming?

rofl-rofl-rofl...sorry, just had to do it.

Maybe some of us are more sensitive to this than others.

"Sensitive" isn't the word I'd use for your argument.  Unrealistic is more like it.  We are looking at vids from an alpha build, and a build from half a year ago no less, not even a current alpha build.  These vids likely have debug code running and they probably aren't even optimized yet.  For what we are looking at this is FRACKING impressive.  You can not realistically expect performance to be silky smooth comparable to tried and trued mature released sims.

Get a grip Parrafin, LOL.   Chill dude.  🙂

Is there a reason MSFS Team choose not to Title their images or videos? Or do they appreciate our Sherlock Holmes abilities that much? I for one am always wondering where these videos or screen shots are taken? But if it's part of the fun the MSFS Team seeing how right or wrong we are. Then well played ladies and gentlemen 🙂 Well played indeed!

But if the money you would normally use for a Title is being used in the writing room for the cryptic messages, forget the titles 🙂 I much prefer the cryptic messages over a title any day! Once again the writing room did their job:

Wandering into the grass of irrelevancy attempting to flush out the rodents of inaccuracy in order to bring you the “real news”.

To all the P3D and P3D v.4 gentlemen and perhaps some ladies out there who sneered at MSFS 2004 and FSX + Steam over the past few years, I say: "He who laughs last laughs best"

I strongly suspect that any slight stutters are the result of the video capture software, compressing the stream on one of their local PCs, rather than from jerky performance of the sim itself, which, we are assuming, will be streamed from no-jerk supercomputers.

Hm, both, DCS and P3D4 (locked at 60fps) are running without stutters on my mediocre i7.

When designing FDEs anything below 40fps and when doing aerobatics anything below 60 is unusable for me.

I rather decrease graphic settings a bit before having to encounter immersion killing unrealistic stutters.

I have an I7 also and I can tell you that without ANY addons-stock P3d, at the lowest settings there are stutters.  Sorry, just don't buy it.

Sorry, if you are experiencing stutters at the lowest setting than you apparently have a bad/cheap machine or a bad setup.

Mine is a silent system and hence not even overclocked. (i7-7700K 4.2GHz, 16GB, GTX 1070)
