I just saw where McDill AFB's annual Airfest has been cancelled also.

Then I saw where every attraction in Central Florida is closing for at least 2 weeks.  Thousands of people will be out of work and many are minimum wage.  Sad.

Finally NASCAR said they are cancelling/postponing the next two races.

Go visit a State Park, go fishing, paint the house, or anything else that needs to be done. Entertainment is on hold for the next couple of weeks.

Now all schools in Florida will be closed for 2 weeks. Colleges will have on line courses only. 

I have never seen these responses to any virus in my life. Hope it works. 

City of Toronto has requested any international travellers, including those coming from the U.S., should self isolate for 14 days. 

Just cancelled a trip to Europe March 24 to April 5. Plan on rescheduling for July or Aug..IF!

My wife and I are supposed to be on a beach in Mexico right now. Our toddler was supposed to be with his grandparents. Instead, I have been frantically running around getting supplies (mostly food), and dealing with the fact that we will be at home with a toddler until at least 4/13 when daycare reopens. That's the best case scenario.

Fortunately, I have 20,000 pesos right now, so if we have to escape to Mexico, at lease we have the local currency.

I was super bummed for a few days - l live for my beach vacations, and I'm a disaster movie aficionado, so I've had trouble getting the worst case scenarios out of my head. I'm not built for a post apocalyptic world. My wife is a little tougher. 

This morning I woke up and decided I'm going to take advantage of this time at home. I'm building a new FS rig, and since my wife wants me to cheer up, I think I can go a little crazy with this one:) Now I have a mission.

Current rig is 6 years old, so I am due. Time to research, and get the parts before the supply chain completely collapses.

The US Air Force Academy is sending all but the graduating class home this weekend...that's 3,000 cadets.  They already have some folks isolated, and decided that there's no such thing as "social distancing" with 4000 cadets living and working in tight quarters.  I wonder if the Doolies (the freshmen) will have to stand at attention and do pushups in front of a webcam at home.  Tele-hazing...another new first. 

I just cancelled my flight and rental car in San Diego, mainly at my sister and bro-in-law's request.  They thought it too risky at this time.  I agree, why take chances!

I'm hearing quite some stories about medical facilities and agencies in several countries still being reluctant to test people unless they're showing clear symptoms. A friend of my mother told a shocking story of her brother and 4 of his buddies who came back from a high risk area. After they arrived at home they tried to avoid people as much as they could and asked their doctor for a test. After that doctor refused they went to the national health agency. Just like the doctor they refused. The only reason why they were eventually tested was because they kept insisting.
