The other sad part is hiding the deaths of coronavirus like Germany but also Russia are most likely doing, and being accused even of having spread it around Italy when it is a fact now that the coronavirus arrived in Italy via Munich

I agree with you on many things, the government reacts too slowly,

but it's not a good idea to point fingers at someone and blame it,
if Munich is to blame, why is the situation not the same as in northern Italy.

There is a difference between pointing fingers and stating facts. I stick to the second one.
It could have been any other place on earth to be honest, it woudn't change a thing. But that is a fact.

It's more of an answer to the "uhhh we were fine until italians started spreading it around" more than "it's Germany's fault!" That is not my intention

Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

Please don't venture into political territory. You're close enough now.

It's real easy to arm chair quarterback this issue because you are not on the front lines.

Opinions are opinions and facts are facts. Everybody has an opinion, not everybody has the facts.

Thank you.

My wife and I are travelling to Spain the first week of April for a family Wedding. All the way from Victoria BC. I'm waiting for KLM and Air France to cancel the flights which I didn't get travel insurance on. Must be nearly $3000. If the wedding is cancelled I'm still going. 😆 The only thing that will stop me is if the flights are cancelled.

COVID-19 is a snake virus. I'm down with the flu and I'm waiting with fear when the little snakes will start hatching out from my body. Think twice, pal.

I crossed the age of 50 not long ago, dont know if i am at risk or not,

but according to current data, coronavirus mortality is 3.4%. This figure was announced by the Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) at a press conference on 5 March.

You are fortunate to fall into the ~1.3% bracket. At 73, I fall squarely in the next to highest bracket of ~8% mortality.

I made plans to volunteer at the 2020 Dayton Hamvention again this year from May 15th through the 17th. Several months ago, in an attempt to save money, I booked a room at a local motel for four nights with a no refund option.

While they have not cancelled the event at this time, it is by no means certain that they will not ultimately be forced to do so. Meaning that I'll be out the $580 motel charges...

Last year attendance was 32,472. Over half of the attendees were non-US residents. Both visitors and exhibiters came from all over the world; Japan, Taiwan, South America, Africa, England, Italy, and - well - every European country!

Since 1952 the event has never been cancelled. I hope the 2020 event will still be held, but I have no doubt whatsoever thattendance will be adversely affected no matter what...

My son has had a couple of booths at Dayton for quite a few years now (Vibroplex). I talked to him today and he tells me that the organizers haven't said a word to the vendors. His take is that it will be cancelled but that the organizers are waiting for the city to mandate the closing instead of them doing it themselves. Not very helpful I know, but the vendors are in the same boat that you are.....Doug

Well, if they do cancel Hamvention, at least they have stated that they will issue refunds to vendors that they may have paid in advance. Of course, if they've prepaid hotel/motel/campground accommodations, that's another matter entirely.

Since the Kane County Fairgrounds are outside the city limits of Xenia, any such request would come from them I would suspect.

Still, while I'm hoping for the best outcome, I remain skeptical that this crisis will be over by early May.

The annual Sun-N-Fun flyin at KLAL has been postponed until later in the year. This will be a huge economic impact for my area.

Also, almost all the St. Pats day parades are cancelled, all sports from little league to pro are cancelled, and even the IRL St. Pete grand prix is not allowing any spectators.

This is getting nuts.

Oh, by the way, I have toilet paper at 100.00 US per roll. This is the 2 ply good stuff. Limit of 5 per customer. Contact me and I'll tell you where to make the cash drop and where you can pick up your purchase.😁

Thank you.

It seems the pandemic hammer has fallen here in Silicon Valley, CA USA.  Pretty much all public gatherings have been cancelled, including sporting events (from kids soccer to professional sports), theater performances of every kind, schools and churches.  Went to the supermarket today and saw stripped canned goods shelves.  Wonder how soon it will be before the fresh produce is removed from sale, being a possible vector.  Only "good" thing is the commute traffic is like it's a public holiday.  Serious failings of our society are being amplified by this crisis, hopefully this experience teaches us the lessons we need to learn to better deal with them.

Dang, it can suck to live in historic times, though this is nothing compared to being in a RL war-zone.

This is not a drill; everyone needs to get real.
