September 20, 20205 yr Why are is there so much interest in this old/dated aircraft design for this new sim? Anyone today would rather a turbo Cirrus with A/C and FIKI for same $. Wouldn't the Epic, Evolution, IV-PT, SF50, M600, P100-P300, Eclipse, PC-24 etc. be more relevant today and interesting? Really surprising, having flown them all (almost all), the newer planes are just so much more fun with better performance and faster... Edited September 20, 20205 yr by Flyfaster SAR Pilot. If you're specifically wondering about why we'd like a non glass aircraft - well this is why...non -glass hehe. If the default glass (G1000/3000/5000/3X) had a working nav database and were a little more functional compared to their competitor (XP11 GNS430/530/G1000), I'd be way more inclined to use the default glass. I just want to fly an aircraft with analogue HSI and DME - is that too much to ask haha? One the gns 530 wasn’t tuned to the correct vor, two it wasn’t in gps mode. After that it tracked perfectly. somewhere along the way, my direction instruments now rotate by 1 degree, and not 10 as it was before. Obviously still feeling my way around, but a major step in the right direction, literally, today! (if you're looking to move up from basic fixed gear and prop to a complex hi performance model.) I was on the fence for a bit as I'm a solid Carenado "wisher", and took the plunge and have been flying her around the Great Lakes area. Watched a 310 pilot vid (unrelated, but still)...that showed them flying into Put in Bay airport. That was enough for me...had to fly to this interesting airport. 🙂 Took her out of KDET KDTW to there. Here I am just after I landed...pulled up next to what I hope Carenado will release soon into MSFS (Enjoyed her thoroughly in P3d) Welcome to the forum as a poster now vs a lurker! 🙂 Hope to see you here contributing to the threads and keeping us posted of you transition to this peppy little hot rod! September 21, 20205 yr Just had another great flight going from KFOT to (almost) KCEC. Avionics were well-behaved and the AP tracked the GPS course perfectly thanks to some of the advice from the experts here. I like the Altitude preselect feature with the FD, easy-peasy. Stopped for touch-goes along the way at Eureka airport, which coincidentally is right next to Samoa drag strip (the drag strip uses an old runway of the airport) and couldn't resist making a pass down the quarter mile prior to entering the pattern. Then further North for a touch-n-go at Humbolt County Airport and then off the Crescent City KCEC. Everything was going so seamlessly and she was purring right along at 22 inches and 2200 RPM cruising past the Klamath River outlet, I decided to take a look around on the inside and went back to the passenger seats, and spotted what looks like some stains and fading on the leather upholstery. On the headrests of all things. Need to have it detailed when I get to KCEC, hopefully the detailer will be discreet. Unfortunately after jumping back in the pilot's seat I got a little curious about more features and thought I'd play with the little window there by the pilot. Just after unlatching it the screen went black and I got the dreaded message that I'd overstressed the aircraft. So, kids, please learn from my mistake and be sure to keep your fingers and toes and any other extremities inside the aircraft at all times. September 21, 20205 yr Possible Solution for hard failure of Avionics on Mooney: I had the dreaded avionics failure with the Mooney and no matter what I tried I could not get them to power back up. Finally I tried the following and for me, for this instance, it worked: 1. Enter the Controls settings Keyboard Settings 2. Apply keystroke A+1 for Avionics Bus 1 ON (Should be a free key combination) 3. Apply keystroke A+2 for Avionics Bus 2 ON (Should also be a free key combination) 4. SAVE and exit the settings Reenter the Mooney and use the A+1 and A+2 key combinations This returned the avionics stack for me, at least with this current instance. Kerry W. September 21, 20205 yr I'm flying with avionics for the first time for more than a few minutes with GAC Savannah's keystrokes. I tried the Ctrl+E earlier and it didn't work for me. Thanks. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
September 21, 20205 yr Hmm. My Bendix/King Nav/Com has no power, but, all the other stuff seems to be working except the Annunciator panel. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
September 21, 20205 yr Hey Gang, if we ever find the config files, we need to add a "tenth" digit for the Manifold Pressure digital gauge. When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
