I, for one don't think it was ever a "mess" ... a few problems, sure but being worked on and regardless, it is improving as opposed to going backwards which is what this statement implies. Further, it is improving at an unprecedented pace. Look at how long it took a very broken, IMO, FSX . Look how long it took to fix (partially) P3Dv5. Some problems very certainly do exist but I think they are better regarded as side steps rather than backward steps. Just remember that many aspects are being fixed and a small proportion of those introduce other problems. Calling this process a "mess" has to be somewhat of an overstatement. I further think that a lot of people are pushing logical thinking with a wheelbarrow full of frustration, which is not saying that I do not feel for them. This statement though, is just venting. For some simmers, all the problems which give rise to his emotions, do not exist. I hope you get it it all sorted with a a minimum of further fuss and frustration. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. October 3, 20205 yr Despite the fact that this is 'old news' since magazine stories tend to be written a while beforehand, I still can't believe some of the nasty and bitter responses from people on this thread. Yes it is true that you don't need to have been a pilot to make a flying game, but it can only serve to improve matters if you are. Besides, anyone who has been through the training and done that first solo etc is 'part of the club' and will presumably be more passionate about seeing that the sim is as good as it can be. Why don't you spend more time having fun with a sim, instead of compiling petty 'ignore' lists that are of interest to...? Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

So, yes, he can make sophisticated sims because of that. Asobo is a brilliant gaming studio. They made one of my fav games: A Plague Tale Innocence.

October 3, 20205 yr MSFS , for some reason, has mustered a cluster of bitter followers on both user and developer side. Edited October 3, 20205 yr by ErichB
October 3, 20205 yr Austin too, owns a PT-6 equipped aircraft, and hasn't yet been able to get it working properly in the sim, in as far, for instance, as the relation between RPM and Fuel Flow goes, or ground effect affects most aircraft during landing ( certainly not sucking them into ground as in XP... ) or simply feeling the touch of an overdone torque effect for years...🙂... So, while it's good to learn that people involved in a flightsim production / design / programming are actually also interested in Aviation for real and in this way able to get closer to what simmers would like to see plausibly reproduced doesn't necessarily mean it'll guarantee that for the simulation product 😕 But there were some remarkable examples, like Seamus Blackley with Flight Unlimited ( 1 ) and later Peter James with Flight Unlimited 3... October 3, 20205 yr I dont't understand why folks want to make a causal link between the lead of Asobo getting his ppl and the game. I mean, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a great book, but I don't think Victor Hugo was a hunchback. This nice little piece of new simply demonstrates that flight simming can ignite a passion for real flight. And isn't that the point? Edited October 3, 20205 yr by Ricardo41
October 3, 20205 yr Maybe it's more important for serious gamerz to study for their PPL's. That way, they can use the sim, any sim actually, to learn and better their procedural skills with complex addons. I'm purposely not using that ridiculous term of 'study level', complex is more appropriate. Anyhow, that's the way we worked at our Virtual Club, with PPL's. It made us all better virtual pilots, and their enthusiasm helped a lot of us become real pilots. The immersion of the sim, NOT the eye candy did the trick. Robin "Onward & Upward" ...
