I'm very excited for the CRJ.  My best friend flew the 200/900 for over a decade.

I probably won't be flying it much though we just had a baby.  My computing time has been cut way down hehe.

There is !? Mathijs was very very anti wing flex so that surprises me.

I think you will find even if you cannot use the default flight planner to enter into the plane you will be able to use that and enter the waypoints into the aeroplane by hand which is generally normal practice anyway,  Have a look at simbief which can plan your route, it is free and is a real airline type flight planner which can give you your routes which at worst you can enter into the plane by hand,

I’m not opposed to having the ability to import flight plans at all. If the MSFS CRJ will do a Simbrief import, that would be great - but I don’t know if that is possible in the sandboxed MSFS environment - at least not directly downloading it from Simbrief’s web site.

As stated, the Working Title CJ4 mod does it all: 1) you can enter your own flight plan to your heart's desire, 2) it loads a default MSFS flight plan, 3) it flawlessly imports a Simbrief-generated flight plan, and 4) allows syncing back either to MSFS, meaning you can use the default ATC,

Imagine that! A free mod, made by a community of volunteers, with no financial interests or motives, does so much more than a big company like Aerosoft who have been in the business of selling and then making flight sim addons for well over 2 decades. 

And nobody on the WT team treats you to a condescending "well, real pilots...." or "real pilots told us....." Ditto for the FlyByWire team, their mod, btw, also handles imported MSFS flight plans without any issues. 

Now, if the constrast I just outlined doesn't summarize where flight simming is going to go in the next 5 years, I don't know what does. WT and FlyByWire do. The big addon companies talk and talk and condescend and talk down, while still having no problem with extracting $$ from us. 

IMHO, this gravy train is about to derail.

It's not the products I think so much as it is the knee-jerk contrarian, bah-humbug, suspicious-of-water-salesmen that seems to reside in all of us simmer to some degree of another. In the detail oriented ADD ODD OCD minds processing the information we read hear a multitude of forces and their component opposites are at play.  Anything can result from the delicate interplay between the controlled chaos of cognitive forces and the literary license taken with product previews and reviews.  Why its a wonder we can all speak in a semi-coherent fashion at all!  A million simulated thought particles bouncing around in what passes for hat holders that we all carrying above our shoulders can sometimes cause low random malfunctions, low FPS or worse yet CTDs.  

 

Simmers are a complex optimistic jaded bunch of cantankerous helpful lazy hard working folks.  Nowhere is this delicate balance reflected better than avsim.com - we would be screwed without it for sure!

Whoa! Congratulations!

This latest video ..."The originating checks" shows an increased level of fidelity from the P3D version. Love the complexity.  Will keep many busy thats for sure.    Now how many people are going to push the button where he says never ever push this button (High Pwr Schedule and FDR Event) LOL. Dont do it! It could render the aircraft unusable until the next C check 😉

You are kind of glossing over the fact that those mods didn't involve modeling the aeroplanes they are tweaking, nor doing any of the coding they had to have to come into existence. So it's not the same as Aerosoft or Asobo actually going out to an airport, measuring those aeroplanes etc, doing blocking and so on, then getting the licences to create likenesses to real-world products and all the copyright issues therein, then making the models and coding all the stuff which goes in them from scratch. Not to mention there is no comeback on providing something free, whereas you are into a contract when you sell something.

Putting some new spark plugs in a car, is not the same as making a car.
