It’s on the development roadmap! They list everything by the nearest development blog release (Thursday). Here it says:

March 11

more stuff

Sim Update III (3/9)

Idk I’ve been aware that this update would come today for around 2 weeks now (since the latest roadmap was released two Thursdays ago).

That sensation when the fasten seatbelts light comes up midflight: as a frequent flyer(sigh, pre-plague times 😞 ) and as an aviation enthusiast you know it's nothing, and also you keep the seatbelt on for the whole flight anyways because sometimes bad things happen to unsecured cargo on planes, but still, there's the off chance that the bag full of contraband lithium batteries that the guy seated next to you checked in, to try and save 20 bucks has caught fire in the cargo bay...
I get that every update.

I wish I had a Nickle for every time someone posts that they are having CTDs, that they are then told their computer must be defective.

That fund of nickels would buy new, more reliable computers for all of us.....  LOL!

Figures - I just get my sim smooth again after 2 weeks of tweaking and now if history is any guide (It has happened every sim update) something will change - which we aren't given any details on - and I spend another week of tweaking settings to get it back to smooth again.....

For your sake I really hope so but I somehow doubt it. The vast majority get no CTD’s. This mean’s the issue is likely on your side and no update pushed to the entire world can address an individual PC’s problems.

Just some thoughts

It’s really hard to say why people get CTDs. Generally it is easier to differentiate between specific issues with the sim, which most everyone will experience (eg the crashes into invisible walls we had with P3D 5.0) and CTDs that seem to randomly occur with some people and not others. I think the complaints about CTDs are absolutely valid, even though I am mercifully free of them mostly.

Fact is MSFS does seem to be very over sensitive to certain configurations of hardware and OS set ups, and then is extraordinarily difficult to diagnose when there’s a problem. I can see people driven to distraction by the problems they’ve had. Even if the sim may not be directly to blame in some cases, unlike previous sims, MSFS is neither ‘graceful’ in the way it terminates or informative when it becomes unstable. There seems to be few if any error messages, and the error logs in Windows are no more help. So when people have issues there is nowhere for them to go.

in my experience most problems I’ve had were probably not due to the sim itself, but if CTDs suddenly start appearing after an update, they should be top priority for Asobo to investigate. However, with sims it’s more often been the community that is left to find solutions and workarounds, rather than the manufacturer/publisher. That seems to be the case here, but with MSFS we seem to be more at their mercy than with FSX and P3D when things go wrong - even the community is often stumped here. MSFS may always not be to blame per se, but it must become more resilient to different PC configurations, and maybe more explicitly helpful to users when things go wrong where it randomly crashes with no warning, or error message for people to report.

The Sim is parked in hangar some months ago, I am going to wake up it againg with the DX12pro update if there is improvements with  airliners fluidity and big airports, and if one day there is fludity in VR and high setting to leap to it.

so you have to wait  a few years then, in the meantime many will enjoy it.

Ten mins to go allegedly. Buckle up, you all know what happens...

If that works for you, sounds like a good plan. Enjoy the wait! check fselite in 2023 or so to see how is it going!
