September 1, 20214 yr Paramount pictures have announced that Top Gun: Maverick has been pushed back from Nov 19 to May 27 next year and presumably the MSFS tie-in expansion gets delayed with it. I wonder if MS were given advance word of the decision so they were able to promote the Reno Air Races the Velocopter thing in place of the now MIA Carriers etc
September 1, 20214 yr Maybe it's the other way around: maybe its Microsoft and Asobo that need more time to develop the Top Gun mod. What exactly is this mod supposed to include? Is there an aircraft? Sailable and landable carrier, or just a fixed aircraft carrier like we already have.
September 1, 20214 yr Well that screws up their DLC plans! Maybe those working on it can be moved to work on current planes and issues instead....he says quietly.... That would be the tail wagging the dog. Paramount will definitely be calling the shots on this! Edited September 1, 20214 yr by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). September 1, 20214 yr Blast, I've been looking forward to Top Gun Maverick for ages. The original file is my favourite film of all time and I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. I've only got the DVD, so could really do with finding a higher resolution version. The MSFS version can wait as far as I am concerned. It's the film I'm really looking forward to though sequels can often be a disappointment, I know. September 1, 20214 yr It definitely is. I think a lot of studios are looking to the release of Shang Chi to see if it's financially feasible to release in theaters due to the pandemic (hence Bob Chapek's experiment comment). Right now, it's not looking that great. Edited September 1, 20214 yr by Kevin_28

An F-18, Aircraft Carrier (hopefully moving not static) and a hypersonic stealth jet that seems inspired by the SR-72. There might be more they didn't show off. September 1, 20214 yr Hopefully they had planned to upgrade the SDK to support proper supersonic flight and the hook for carrier landings with this release. As long as they can deliver those updates I don't care about the DLC itself. There is a bunch of devs that can implement that on other aircrafts. // 5800X3D // RTX 3090 // 64GB RAM // HP REVERB G2 //
September 1, 20214 yr I have read that movie postponed due to covid. Well, I can't blame them for wanting to make more money; otherwise, they could just stream it for premium access.
