It'd be cool if we could specify the exact number of bags and/or pieces of freight being loaded

Sorry to be that guy, but any idea when we can expect release? Even if it’s a a very rough estimate.

Why do we need another pushback….you have fscrew which looks very good and then you have the free one which I have  which has just been updated and is very very good?

It seems people don't want to believe how much time is required to redo all objects/textures/animations from scratch.

Showing more services now, would only expose to nasty comments like "they ported objects from P3D" or "that's the same OMSI grandma!", so we won't show anything unless it's completely remade from scratch for MSFS.

And it takes way more time to do something properly, in the way people expects. This video shows something probably never seen before in any Microsoft flight sim: Cloth physic on the bypass pin, which is quite tricky and time consuming to do.

I fear you could offer it for free and you would still get complaints 🙂  Seems to be the nature of this hobby.  I commend FS Developers who stick with this community sometimes LOL

Looks amazing!  Ironically after my neck surgery it looks like you just took a video of me trying to walk and put it right in the sim LOL.  Looks just like me right now LOL

Have a Wonderful Day

I suggest you watch some videos of GSX in P3D. You will know "why" afterwards. Hint: Pushback is just 1/10 of what GSX brings. Also, it does pushback a lot better than anything (like automatic without any map drawing or manual steering).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

FINALLY !!!!

but will the GSX De-icing tools from previous sims now remove ice/snow variables (I.E., ice weight and graphics) when used? Is the SDK complex enough to let you prevent ice build up for X amount of time depending on fluid used?

Of course they will! Having progressive visual ice simulation is one of the best new features in MSFS, it would be foolish not to take advantage of it. However, the thing about the icing build up AFTER GSX has completed its service, it's something that's best handled by the airplane itself.

We already doing something like this in GSX for P3D and FS Labs: we have a published variable that tells the airplane which type of fluid has been used with the GSX deicers, and the code in the FS Labs use this information to calculate icing rebuilding times. The variable will still there in MSFS for every developer to use as they need.

As a point of interest for people, two of the bolts you can see at the head of the towbar are 'shear pins', these are designed to break if the tug puts too much stress on the nose gear, they usually go with a right bang. If they break, you have to stop the push

As a a former ramp person, I have to say you haven't lived until you sheared the pins and watched the nose gear flop in all directions. Very unpleasant. Also pushing back MD aircraft, when making a turn, it's not uncommon to see the nose gear with only one tire on the ground.

IMO, GSX is a must have. FSDT has done right by me so I look forward to supporting and enjoying products from them.

Umberto--great to see the progress so far thanks for sharing.  Beyond a few airports (CYVR/KORD) my top two addons for MSFS are GSX & FSCaptain.  Unfortunately FSC is under very slow development due to a shortage of LVARS accessible thru the MSFS SDK but I believe they are still interested in progressing.  FSCaptain integrated nicely w/ GSX in P3D.  FSCaptain is IMO the 'career addon' that most would be interested in unless their goals as mostly managing and airline company.  FSC is unique in that it is pilot and aircraft centered, is ultra flexible, and sports and FMC-like interface that in P3D was integrated into aircraft.

@virtuali Any chance for the radio comms to have the regional recognition capability for accents and such?

With this addon do you have like the free one where you can preplan your push? Or is it already set via the app, per airport and per stall to watch the taxi lines?

Ok, it seems you are not familiar with GSX, which is its current version for FSX/P3D has been out since 10 years.

Yes, it can do both: pre-plan a route, if you want a pushback to end up precisely in a certain place and follow a precise curve, and these routes can be saved, gate by gate ( with multiple saved pushback procedure for each gate ), and will be saved together with other customizations on a profile for that airport, which will be loaded automatically whenever that airport is in use, and shared with other users. In fact, there are many places where you can download pre-made GSX profiles for various airports.

However, most of the time, there's no need to do any programming, you just choose a Left/Right direction, and GSX will figure out automatically the best route to take, because it knows the whole airport structure, and this is the most common usage case, in which you just call it, ask for pushback and it will went on automatically while you are doing other things ( as you are supposed to do, since you are not supposed to "drive yourself", unless you use a Taxibot, which it's a very recent and completely different system we are planning to simulate in the proper way sooner or later ), while the pushback will place you in a sensible place. Pre-programming is usually done only when you are in special places like the last gate at the end of a terminal, or to simulate special airport procedures.

Relatively speaking, pre-programming it's relatively "easy", since it's mostly UI work. Making it work automatically and put in you a sensible place it's harder, since we need to fight with many issues with airports, including bugs in the airport, misplaced/orphaned/overlapping/unlinked nodes, etc.. We learn so many things with GSX, that it forced us to design airports better...

Also, note that Pushback is just one of the many features. The existing version for FSX/P3D could do all of this:

- Loading/Unloading of Passengers AND Cargo.

- Various kind of Parking aids like Marshallers, Docking Systems of several kinds, coupled with the ability to customize the precise parking position for each gate, which in turn will allow jetways to work better.

- Deicing, which we think will work much better with MSFS.

- Follow Me cars, to guide from gate to runway and from runway to gate

- Mobile GPUs

- Replacement jetways worldwide, with many models in hundreds of different liveries/logos from all over the world.

- Catering vehicles

- Refueling with a proper refuel procedure that can actual refuel the airplane progressively, using both tankers or fuel Hydrants.

- Mobile GPUs

- Animated passengers that can follow pre-programmed customizable routes, we added this very recently to P3D, but of course it will work in MSFS as well, so passengers can now exit using stairs and reach the terminal on foot

Then, there are other extra features we are planning on, which we'll likely add later on when the existing product is completed, like Water and Lavatory vehicles, PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility ) vehicles, Firetrucks, and remote Deicing.
